There's not a forum called "General Anxiety" so I'm putting this here.

A little back ground:

When my mom & dad got married she was already preg with her ex's child (me!)

Under state law I was automatically my dads legal child, which I understand was my dad's idea anyway.

I found out about all this last year and was kinda freaked about it.

I was told my biological father, who is still my mom's friend, was okay if I wanted to get to know him so my mom took me over there one afternoon for a cookout with his family, wife & 2 girls who are my half sisters.

I like the girls, who look like me, and one especially likes me, and spent some time talking to their mom while Jim (that's his real name) visited and smoked weed mostly. The girls haven't been told that I'm their half brother. The convo with their mom went okay.

I thought everything was cool tho I didn't connect with Jim all that much. Now I'm told his wife says I'm not welcome over there and the girls are not going to be told who I am. She's religious and says the whole thing's something they should not know about, etc.

I feel like a total kick in the balls. AAAAaaaarrrgghhh!

Tell the girls yourself. Your 'biological' dad sounds like a deadbeat not worth knowing, but those girls are your relatives. Let them have the information and leave the ball in their court. Knowledge is power and all that.

You know, it didn't occur to me to do that. When we went over there I half expected their parents to tell them. Their mom is kind of a prude and I think she doesn't want explain why daddy was out fucking another woman. LOL - I might not either since they are 7 & 9. I think I'm just a major embarrassment to her. Like what will the girls say at Sunday school?

But I'm sure I will someday. I'm also sure they're aware I could do that.

Meanwhile it hurts. Mom is pissed off at Jim for caving in to her. She said he never had a lot of courage - that's why she married dad.

Tell them when they are older. Maybe them being 7 and 9 is a bit too young for them to comprehend.

That's what I was thinking, but it would be awesome to have two more sisters. If that was her reasoning I could deal with it but I get the impression that she thinks I would somehow "pollute" her children.
