It is a big deal but then so is a chastity belt. Have you seen one? There's also the psychological angle of what rights you have over your own body. We're taught that our bodies are our own and not to let other people interfere with them, i.e. molestation, but this is kind of the same and yet the opposite in that it says you don't have the last say when it comes to your own body.

If a parent tried to make a child wear a chastity belt I think that it would be a reportable offense to child services, as they are interfering with the child's sexual health, after all masturbation is healthy for us.
