View Full Version : Making a new friend

Hi. So basically.... I didn't used to have many friends unfortunately. But when I joined my old school a few years ago everyone had just joined as well so I took that opportunity to talk to everyone and it was easy because no one knew anyone and they wanted to make new friends as well and now I have lots of friends (I'm trying to say that in the least knob sounding way as possible). So there's this guy at my school who is my best friend's friend. We didn't really know each other and didn't talk up until recently. So we actually have a lot in common and he seems to be a really nice guy. So I wanna get to know him more. We talk on group chats and on private chat more recently. But I don't really see him much unless he's with my best friend and I don't want to invade in their conversation. Also I don't Anna just randomly approach him all the time and look super weird. So how should I go about this?
Thanks

Ratman1234,
You're actually quite lucky in this situation. Your best friend is friends with the guy. So, befriend him through the guy that's already your friend. For instance, invite your best friend out to go do something, like hanging out somewhere, and then tell him to invite the new guy. That way, it won't be super awkward as you already have someone there that you know and that knows him. I've always found that this works out pretty well.
Hope I helped. Best of luck!

I agree, good advise. Also, after you do that, and you know him better, it won't feel so awkward to talk to him on your own and invite him or do stuff with just him and you. When the three of you are hanging out, try and get to know him, what he likes, interests, and find a common grounds of interest. If he likes you to, he'll respond to you about those interests

I'd wait until you get pretty close and then suggest meeting up and doing something? Then start chilling out together at school:) Wish you luck buddyyy:)
