View Full Version : Going too far?

So, I have this friend, he's a guy. So, in the beginning of the school year, he was a loner and I wanted to try to befriend him. As it went on, things started to get a little... touchy. Lately, he's been punching me (as a joke, not like, being a jerk or anything) and I've been harassing him (it's not exactly harassment if he's okay with it...?) I've done stuff like, poke his butt and grab his crotch and just a bunch of touching. I think he knows that I just like him as a friend and it seems that this is mutual, but I wonder if I should stop. It's kinda fun to bug him and stuff though. But am I going too far and pushing the boundaries?
Any details you want to know you could ask here if it aids in helping me solve this, or if you're just curious about something. Thank you.

It's not always easy to see when you're going too far. He might not always show it if he's not comfortable with it because he's scared it might hurt you. That might not be the case though.
Best thing you could do it ask him if he's fine with it. If he's not it's always good to know.

I have been told, if you have to ask if youre going too far then you probably are and should change things. BUT!! If he hasnt said anything to you about it and the activity is mutual between you, then theres no problem. If you still have doubts, you should talk to him about it and get his point of view. Thats really the only way to find out.

Maybe it's better to at least not do that so much? You should try to talk to him in a more serious way to get a serious response, not one while he's laughing. Maybe he's alright with you doing it sometimes, but try to talk to him in a serious way about it.
Also, this probably won't be the case but some people are harassed and don't like it but they can't do anything about it and just store the anguish inside of them, so I repeat what I said above.
I hope I helped something :)

Well, I don't know. Maybe you should just stop doing the things you consider harassment even if he could be okay with it, just to avoid problems or something.

Then dial it back a bit and see if he initiates anything next time.

If you have to ask whether it's wrong, it's probably best to just assume it's wrong and not do it.

Yeh, crotch touching is too far for a hetero friendship.
