Hello,
I like this girl called Millie, She is from a different friend group, we've talked once or twice; that was on a school trip where i was in here group...
I have no confidence in going up to someone and just saying "Hi" I want to get to know her more, but I am afraid of just randomly going to talk to her.
All my life, i have had problems with looking people in the eye when i talk to them. Friends? Family? yes of course not even them do i look in the eye. I've read this is a bad impression as eye contact is one of the first steps in building a relationship?
I am shy, and find it hard talking to girls, when i get to know them i fine. Its just the first bit.
Any help with finding the confidence and looking at people when i talk to them?:wub:

Hi Ben, yeah, eye contact is a big thing, especially when someone don't have much confidence or low self esteem. Some people will kinda look at it like your insecure, or even lying if you don't make eye contact. So that's where the first impressions come from.
What I'd suggest I'd kinda practice talking with people your more confident with and use eye contact. Then start talking to people you feel a little less confident with, then keep going to people you have like very little confidence. Doing a little at a time, like practice.
Maybe even try talking to people in a small group of people your confident with and maybe bring in some one that your not confident speaking to into the group somehow. That might be kinda hard to do but it you could do that you'd steady have some friends around you for when you speak.
Also, when you get to the point you wana talk to her, have a couple friends with you.
Just some thoughts is all, did love to hear how you make out to ok?
