The Boom

Ok, so I'm really interested about world war 2. Always have been. But, I was always curious about the germans. I know so much about them! How Hitler gained their trust, how they attacked Poland, how they almost took Europe... Problem is, I know so much about them, some students at my school keep asking me if I'm not a Nazi! They even sometimes call me "the german". (I swear my interest for the germans during world war two has nothing to do with me agreeing to their ideology!) I litteraly had to hide my interest for this subject to just breath a little bit. Pisses me off.

I think the Germans are a lot like everybody else. Hitler just used a small number of angry ruthless people to subdue everybody else. Maybe like.............

Same here!! I had AP world history and the most intriguing lesson we learned was WW2 and Nazi Germany. Sometimes i read the history school textbook about Nazi Germany and Hitler just for fun. It's truly an interesting subject. But, being into this does not make me a Neo Nazi and neither does it make you. Theyreached just teasing you and honestly you're way more educated than them

I think we all have a fixation on something. Mine is weather and storms. It's just something that we like and like to learn more about. I follow storms on radar and watch storm chasers hoping to see a tornado. Just one correction to your post, Poland is in Europe. They attacked several European countries.

I find your post puzzling. A scholar would know that hitler lost the first election, rigged the second but wanted more, so ran a third election. With no competitors. Uh...
There's a huge difference between a nazi and a German, so anyone referring to that time period as analogous is simply ignorant.
Maybe explore more why you find it so interesting. It may give you a subject to study further or a career. Is it the psychology? Is it the history?
It's only an issue if you are enamoured with nazism... That's a whole different post...

I'm not sure what this is doing in this section of VT....
But anyway yes it is interesting but pretty harrowing too. The pictures available of the Holocaust are horrendous.

I have been interested in that myself too. How Hitler sneaked and got himself in power and how he conned the people. It was so horrible what the Nazi's did to the Jewish people and I am appalled with the things they did to those poor people.
