WTF is up with love

so at school i was lonely because idk kids at my school don't meet up to my standards (i guess) except this one kid i met a couple months ago. he's cute, funny, nice but one day he just disappeared and then i was like dead inside but last week he's been actually talking then i realized that he makes me feel some type of way and one day he wasn't happy and i asked him does he want a hug and he said yea so we hugged and i know he's straight but my heart is falling for him and my mind is like no you'll ruin another friendship, and i don't want that

If you're sure he's straight then I wouldn't persue him but there is no problem with having the feelings:)
