Alan Wake - What is this thing?

Hi folks,

So I was playing Alan Wake (great game btw) when at the police station I saw the "Missing persons" posters, and one particularly caught my attention.

Guys, just... what is this thing? Perhaps I'm dreaming but it absolutely doesn't look like a human or even an animal.

I know it is the kind of game with twisted plot&stuff, like objects moving by themselves when you don't look at them but seriously, what is this supposed to be?

Alan Wake has a TON of inside jokes and just jokes in general. It's probably the cat of one of the developers and they just put it in as an inside joke.

Fantastic game this is, one of my all time favorites with one of the best examples of storytelling and atmosphere.
