I need an argument...

I was recently invited to a manga con and I REALLY want to go, but when I proposed the idea to my mother ((including the fact that she won't have to pay any money and I have transportation)), she shot it down pretty much instantly. She wants me to go to some time share with the family that I barely know. I can't express in words how badly I want to go to this con, but I don't know how to convince her to let me. I also have a place I can stay during this con. Can anyone help me?

You should try to calmly explain to her how important it is for you.
Say that you will catch up the time with your family any other day (and do it, otherwise your word doesn't have any value)

This trip to the time share probably means a lot to your mother, especially if she's a family oriented person. Think of it like this, if you can't go to the manga con, make the best of the time share trip for your mom.

^^this. But if really don't want to go to the time share then just calmly present why you want tkd go and maybe she will consider it.
