I always make plots and characters of imaginary books in my mind to entertain myself. I was just looking at this think called Nook Press where I can write a book online and it'll be published as a e-book in the Barnes and Noble Nook e-book store. I thought about doing this. What about you guys? Have you ever thought of writing a book? If so, what would it be about?

I'd say go for it, I'm sure I'll write one sooner or later, still have to decide on a lot of things, but that is one of my objectives.

I think up stories all the time!
Not sure if I'll actually publish a book someday, but it's always an option I've considered.

I can't write worth a damn, I just get kind of lost and linger way off of what I was originally intending to say.

I've started books a few times but I just got bored. I might try again but I've no idea what I'd write about.

I haven't thought about this but someone in my "group" on an online game I play yesterday was saying that he's thinking to write "another" book which shows he's already written one in the past XD if this counts for anything...

For the longest time, I've dreamed of publishing a book before I turned 18, but I came to the realization at some point in recent years that I just don't have what it takes.

I did think about it once and actually got 60 pages of a really weird book based off my transient and semi-original imaginative thoughts, in 2006 and 2007. Then I stopped. The information of those 60 word document pages are in one of the computerr in the attic now, or deleted.

I've actually written two full-length novels, one of which has been partially edited. I've also written an entire rough draft of a novel aside from those, and I've started a couple of others.
Amazon also has a self-publishing service for both Kindle and print. :)
I've thought about publishing my novels, but I want to make sure they're edited and copyrighted first, and that I have enough money to buy a few physical copies both to sell and to donate to libraries and bookstores that would display them.

You shoulda really give this a try, and yes I've thought about writing a book got to chapter 27 page 347 but I just got stuck after writing it. All it was is a twist on my life plus some extra stuff, some of my friends liked it though.

I'm currently writing a book with Nook Press. The information will be under wraps until it's out. Problem I'm facing is finding the time to sit down and write for an extended period of time. I've only been able to write a few paragraphs at a time.

I actually have thought of writing a book before. Right now, I'm writing a story based on the Avatar: The Last Airbender series. What kind of stories do you write?

I've seen a lot of debate over self publishing recently - from what I could gather so far, it's not always the best decision, mainly because, if further down the line you'd want to sign a contract with a publisher, many will be reluctant to do so... I don't know how accurate this is, but still, I'd prefer to do it through someone.
Regarding your first question, yes, I've thought many times about writing a book, and I've even tried to do so couple of times, yet I've never brought myself to finish any of them - either lack of inspiration, time, writer's block, realization that the piece of writing is not as amazing as I originally saw it. Numerous reasons, many probably untrue. I'd like though to wait some more time and gather some more experience - plus I'd like to write in English, not Romanian (my mother tongue) so it'd be nice to have a better control over the language/reach a level that is closer to the one of a native's. I'm still writing shorter stories, article or essays though.
