I'm considering getting circumcised. I'm 17. Anyone have any advice? Anyone go through this before?

Hi there,
I was cut at 13, a friend of mine at 18. Why do you want it? You can't get it undone. I personally prefer it, but wouldn't recommend doing it just for aesthetics. It's up to your choice but really consider it. Read about style and tightness, because you can choose the style and way it will be done. It will hurt a bit, especially the healing.

I have done a lot of research. It's because its too tight but not phimosis. What style did you get? I'm considering low and moderately tight.

High and tight.

If you don't need to too, I recommend don't do it. There is no need of circumcision if your foreskin is not too tigh. Once you do it there is no return even the restore method is a pain in the ass. Cut will desensitized the head of the penis. I was like you consider getting circumcision around 15-16 but there actual no need for it if you don't require it.

I would only ever have it done for medical reasons.

Y do u want it? If it aint broke don't fix it.
If u have some kind of a medical prob then
that is another story but no.

There is a lot more room for error and deformities when the surgery is done as a teen or adult because the foreskin itself is much thicker, so keep that in mind. There is a reason the human male body has evolved to have a foreskin. If it wasnt necessary, we woulnt have it in the first place. I would never ever get that done, so i highly do not recommend it.

I had it done at a fairly late age (9 years old, not a teen but old enough to remember) and it was the worst thing that has even happened to me. My style is tight so there is no foreskin left. I don't hate the result but I wouldn't have done it if I was allowed to make the decision myself.

I would never get cut myself unless if my foreskin was way tight or something.

I made a long thread about this a few months ago with my own experience. If there's a medical need or has caused you enough discomfort to deeply consider getting circ then you probably should. But remember that it's your decision, weigh in the research and opinions but you'll know yourself whether you think its right for you.

This is very good advice. In my experience, if you really want it done, it's your body, and you will be pleased with the outcome (assuming the surgeon is skilled).

I respectfully disagree. As it grows and gets bigger, it's easier to judge how much to take off. When babies have it done, it is very hard to guess how much it will grow. A lot of people who have it done as babies, the parents will take them back in for a "second circumcision" because it still looks like they have foreskin (as if it's some sort of birth defect.) Other people who have it done have too much taken off which can lead to issues with erections when adults.

Sidenote -- Everyone has a foreskin, males and females. The clitoris is basically the "female glans" with the clitoral hood being the equivalent of the foreskin.

(Look up "female genital mutilation" if you have a strong stomach.)

I did like three weeks ago and if h have no problems I do t recommend it cuz u can't jack off for like 6 weeks or have sex. Plus your head will be less sensitive if u decide to get cut

Don't do it, unless you need to because of a medical issue. Remember that once you do it, there's no going back.

I was circumcised as a baby and have had absolutely no problems.
I guess it all comes down to the skill of the surgeon.

don't do it if a g/f or b/f wants you to do it they may not be around for ever and it is not there body that is being cut

Don't do it, circumcision reduces sensitivity by 2/3.
I love my foreskin, it is so sensitive.
If anyone tried to circumcise me I would put up a huge fight.

Why?? Just leave it alone and try something else that turns you on that doesn't involve surgically removing a part of an organ from your body.

I would recommend that you NOT get this done. Your skin should loosen up at the end of puberty. If it doesn't, go talk to the doctor about alternative options. Circumcision during teens and adult ages is a very difficult procedure and has room for many errors. Unless there is any underlying medical issue I wouldn't really recommend the procedure to be performed.

If you have any more questions them feel free to message me. ;)

that's not true, body hair and male nipples are pretty useless

Body hair was mainly of use during the time of homo sapiens neanderthalensis, or more commonly known as the neanderthal. They didn't have the knowledge to make suitable clothing, so they evolved with more body hair to keep themselves warm. The specific amount per specimen depended on the climate, so the ones who evolved into today's homo sapiens sapiens, humans, in colder climates were hairier than the rest. It used to serve a purpose I guess.

Used to, but we didn't evolve to make it go away. The appendix and the ear muscles are also pretty useless

I wouldn't do if at your age unless you are having problems, I had mine done when I was born, and although I kinda wonder what it would be like to be uncut, at least I don't have to worry about remembering the procedure or having to go through recovery.

Ouch! I wouldn't do it. They did it to me at birth, but if I still had it I wouldn't let em cut it off.
