how to tell if your crush likes you back?

so i have a crush on my good friend. We hangout a lot and i think we're like more than friends. i share my problems with him, he's like a brother to me. We're so close. Then someday i realized that i liked him, i want him to be mine.

I've been wondering if he's feeling the same thing. So if there's any possibility that he is, is there any way to tell that he likes me back?

If you're already close, the best course of action in my opinion is to just be honest. Just tell him something along the lines of "I'm not sure but I think I might feel something more for you than just friendship." Maybe also express that you feel concern that telling him this may hurt your friendship, which is why you haven't mentioned it sooner. Even if that's not the case, it'll show that you still want to at least be friends even if he doesn't feel the same way.
