Why aren't there more spy themed video games?

The guys I know who game told me about Alpha Protocol and Splinter Cell. I would like to play as a female character. Why aren't there more spy themed video games?

Because stealth missions are soooo painful!! If you like female characters try tomb raider! It's a really good game with a fair amount of stealth. The old mission impossible game on the PS2 was the only stealth game I have ever enjoyed.
