Is this okay?

I am 17 years old and still have never really gone out with anyone. Most of my friends are either in a relationship or have been in one. Is it okay if someone like me has never been in a relationship? I have been to a couple dances with a girl but they weren't really dates or anything and I don't really talk to her anymore.

Yeah it's completely normal. As society progresses kids seem to be getting into relationships younger and younger. Not being in a relationship or being in a relationship at your age is perfectly fine.

I don't think age is like a standard for if you've been in a relationship or not. You probably just haven't meet the right person that the both of you have a mutual interest in each other in that way yet. Some people never do, some people never get married.
But i think it's pretty common to want to be in a relationship. Sometimes we might even feel pressured, maybe you are now, with "social norms". But I wouldn't rush it, it'll happen when the time is right for you.

of course it is ok. just because a lot of people around you are or have been in a relationship does not mean you have to be. some go their whole life being single and that is just as ok. so no worries
