Hi Guys,

So there's a girl I have a crush on, the problem being that she has a boyfriend.. But that's besides the point. Anyway, I am going to a birthday dinner at hers very soon for her 18th. I have bought some nice flowers and a silver necklace to give her and have a few questions.
First, there these good presents? Girls, how would you feel to be given these by a guy? Would it be a bit weird as she has a boyfriend or it is just very nice and shows that I care about her?
Secondly how do I give them to her? As soon as I walk in the door? Kiss on the cheek? Happy birthday and hand them over? Any general advice?

Thanks very much,

Mark

A silver necklace may be a bit too much, considering her BF may not be able to afford it, it may get awkward. About handing them over, just give them when you walk in, it'd be fine.

Seems odd buying flowers much in advance so I hope they are okay - really not sure about the necklace and your crush thing.

A necklace and flowers for her birthday just seems to be screaming: "Go out with me." That being said you cant turn back now lol. I would do what "plane and Simple" said, and just hand both to her at the door.

Because she has a boyfriend it may seem awkward, the BF may even get offended and think you are trying to "steal his girl" (which you kinda are if you're wanting to date her) so watch out for that.

How the girl would feel? she would obviously think it would be very sweet of you. yet as stated it may be awkward.

honestly i wouldn't have gotten her something so "extravagant" because of the whole BF thing, although that is very kind of you :)

just my input. just go with the flow and see how everything plays out!

You know what's a good idea? A charm necklace. It's thoughtful and doesnt seem shabby but still doesnt scream "come cheat on your boyfriend with me"...plus you can get some really meaningful little charms to go on it to fit in with whatever her interests are :)

I think a silver necklace/flowers will be a bit "Date me now" kinda thing. I'm suggesting something different like a cute tea set or a huge stuffed toy as such. I can't think of much else to be honest but if she likes something, it's nice to get something along those lines.
With giving it to her, you don't have to be extravagant with it. On her birthday just go up to her and say "Happy Birthday" and give the present to her and you can just say "I hope you Like it" and smile. THat's all really.

This is the best way of putting it.

flowers sounds fine, silver necklace sounds a bit to much, especially because because she have a boyfriend. "a taken girl, is no-go"
