Best Way of Measuring One's Self?

Whenever I try to measure my height I usually get a few different measurements because I can't lay my hand or a book perpendicular with my head. Are there ways any more reliable ways to measure my height?

Stand straight up against a wall and with a pencil
draw a line across the top of ur head then get a
tape measure and measure from the floor to the
top of the line-or when u get a doctors checkup
usually they have scales that not only take ur
weight but measure ur height.

I have a lot of pencil marks on my closet door. I can see how much I'm growing and how fast.
