Not sure if this is the right place for this, but I cannot go pee in a public restroom. Now, I can go to the bathroom just fine like when I'm at home, but let's say I'm at school, for some reason I cannot go. For years I have held it in so that I didn't have to go in public, but recently I found out that unless I am about to wet my pants, I cannot go pee in a public facility.
It's not like I'm nervous that someone will see me or anything. Both times I've tried this year the room was empty. Even then I wouldn't get nervous, so I don't have a clue why I can't go. Does anyone else have a similar problem? Have I permanenlty screwed myself up by not going in public for so many years?

Can you just go in a stall and go in there? That's a little more private.

Just pee shy, go into a stall and just try until it happens and the more you do it the easier it is.

Same! I disagree with your last question though because I used to be able to go fine and then like two years ago when I went on holiday (vacation for all of you non-Brits) I found out that I couldn't go in public places, like you. It's interesting to note that this was around the time that puberty started for me so it probably has something to do with that and not the fact that you put it off for most of your life. That's just me though so it could be different for you.

I have the same thing, I've seen in nicknamed Public Piss Syndrome. I always have to wait for a cubicle otherwise I just can't go.

I had the same problem at school...I've rarely peed in public in my life unless I've really got to.
But gradually, this 'pee shyness' will go...

I think it's normal to be nervous when being in a public restroom, I have it a little bit but not to the same degree as you. I would suggest using a stall because there's no chance someone will see you by accident.

Probably just psychological. Bathrooms at home are just so much better.

Hey,
You could have created an association for your mind to say Do not Urinate in public. But, to be honest, I'm not really nervous, and I get the same thing, even if the room is empty. It's just what happens. I try to go in a stall, or wait for one. But, I will go for a urinal if I need to. But, that's harder for me.
Pm me if you have any questions,
Valentin
