So all my friends have a snail trail that line of hair leading from the belly button to the pubes but I don't. I just turned 16 and I was wondering when I will grow one (approximately) since my brother had one when he was around 16 too

I've probably had mine since I was 14ish but then again I'm a hairy dude. It should come in soon though.

I'm a month away from being 16, and I have no sign of one. I'm not a hairy person, so it doesn't bother me. I actually like not having one, or a lot of hair in general.

Haha. I've always heard it called a happy trail. Snail trail sounds slimey. I've had one for a couple years now, but I'm pretty hairy. 15 now.

You may not.

This is all part of the pattern of public hair growth and there are aparently three common patterns. The first pattern is just an inverted triangle so there is a straight line at the top and the hair does not go up onto your stomach. This is the most common pattern for girls but also some guys too and you may be one of them. The second pattern has a line of hair going up towards the belly button and the third pattern has a right-way-up triange of hair sitting on top of the first (upseide down) triangle with the apex of this second triangle at the belly button.

It's not a given that you will have one at all but if you are ever going to get one, it should be soon considering your age.

I thought a snail trail was made by semen.

It depends a lot on genetics, and as you pointed out your brother had one when he was 16 so it's likely you'll start having one soon. I know a lot of guys who don't have one and are my age though so don't expect it too soon.

Never heard it called snail trail before. We usually call it treasure trail. I do not as yet have one. I really want one. I think they're hot.

You may never grow one, but you are more than likely to start getting one now... try this link to find which stage you are in http://growingupboys.info/Calculators/TannerStage.htm
If it's about 4, you still have a fair amount of time left :)
Pm if you need to talk,
