Is there any hope that I can still reach 6' tall? I have always been on the shorter side and didn't even reach 5' until freshman year. Now I'm 5' 9.5" and in Junior year. My grandfather is about 6' 4" and my dad is 6' so I was just wondering if it is realistic to hope that I will reach that mark as well. If it helps at all I have grown about a half inch since December, but this is nowhere near the pace I was at a year or two ago.

Now I know that this is already the average height for Americans, but my doctor has always told me that I'd be 6' and I'd always dreamed of being "one of the tall kids" so it would just be a major confidence booster if I did reach it.

My Dad is a doctor and he always says
that a teen will b at least one or more
inches taller than their father after
puberty ends.

There's hope but it's not certain that you will just because your dad and grandad are. How about your mum and other grandparents?

It is hard to say what exactly will happen with you, but there definitely is a chance since you come from a tall family. Everything depends upon your eating rightly, staying away from alcohol, drugs, tobacco, and other artificial substances all of which can mess up puberty for you. Make sure you're eating good food and staying away from excessive junk food.

Listen, even if you do not hit 6' it is not like you are exactly a midget. You should never let how you look on the outside determine how you feel on the inside.

There's hope, but don't feel bad if you can't reach it.
