I am kind of shy and would rather home a few close friends as opposed to many. My closest friend, we do everything together, doesn't want to hang out anymore. Not just from me, but everyone. He has become obsessed with getting into a good college, and is trying to teach himself math so he can skip a level. He also is really intrested in buisness. And I really have tried to support him. And instead of doing fun stuff late at night like we used to, anytime I go over, we just go to his room and work on math together. And I don't really have fun doing that.

Anyway...
This is a friendship I really want to keep, but I don't want to always hang out in his room. Should I just give him and move on from him, or should I try and work on the friendship? If so, how can I convince him to go out and do fun stuff with me? Thanks a bunch

Maybe try and arrange some stuff in advance- places to go, so you're both committed to leaving the house and not just ending up doing maths! But maybe also speak honestly to him about how you feel and see what he says.....

well he's trying to reach the goals, sometimes u must sacrifice something for something..you know... dw when he will get into the good college - he should be same as before , unless he finds there "cooler" people and might ditch old friends, but best friends will always be the best friends

If you were really close friends, things will be back to normal when he reaches his goal (well, depending what type of a person he is).
Everybody wants to achieve his goals and as mentioned above sacrifices are to be made. Here it just happens to be the late night fun among buddies.
Keep your relationship alive but do hang out, if you wish, with other people for the fun activities that you still want to be doing.
You only live once, be wise. Peace and Love.
