So i'm almost 15 and my parents go through all of my texts and all the mail addressed to me (before i open it). I feel like i should have some more privacy. Do any of your parents do stuff like this? Do any of your parents let you be too private? Any advice on how to tell me parents i want space?

Maybe talk to them about it,say you're getting older and need some space, and ask them why they want to check it. They may think you're not old enough or maybe they still see you as a kid. If you tell or show them otherwise, they may be more comfortable giving you more privacy.

I'm the opposite,I have a bit too much privacy sometimes. But thats not a very good thing either,I didn't know how to handle it at first.

Yeah I agree. Just talk to them and tell them how you feel. It's not that you're hiding anything but you just want to be respected. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

That's not right. My rents don't go thru anything of mine.

Politely ask them and if they resist then you must insist

Privacy is important but so is safety. It may not be you they don't trust. There's a lot of crime committed against kids on the internet by people who aren't who they claim to be. My mom does the same thing.

I have 2 skype accounts and delete my browser history on my phone each time I use VT. If I type on my phonr they HAVE to know who I'm talking to. Yeah I don't have allot of privacy.

The is unfair to you. I think that parents should respect our privacy unless we give them a reason to mistrust us. If I'm on line and my mom walks in and I suddenly close the browser she gets suspicious but has never looked through my stuff. I'm sorry this is happening to you.

I have not much privacy. If I visit a website like this I always use private browse so there is no history. They look at my phone everyday but I have no one to text to so there is only message from them. I must leave bedroom door open always. I change clothe in my bathroom it is my only safe place. Even bathroom I get in trouble if door locked. I do not know why.

They're probably just paranoid, and I'd at least talk to them about it. Everyone deserves some sort of privacy, and what they're doing is immoral.

They're probably just doing it to keep you safe, but it seems excessive. My parents are really cool about that and they don't check anything.
