The newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung and many other international partners were presented with a leak with proof that many world leaders and politicians had set up offshore shell companies in Panama as a way to cover up shady deals. Some of the people include the leaders of Iceland, the King of Saudi Arabia, and members of the Chinese Communist Party. This is kind of big to even describe as over two terabytes of data were leaked. Here are some links I've found:

Were any members of your nation guilty?

Not on this list, but some of our politicians are not far behind.

Yes no American politicians were Implicated, but it mentioned mafia groups using the services so there were probably some Americans in there. Italian organised crime is dead, but near where I live there are the street gangs and the Albanian Mafia.

Albanian, Serbian and the Russian mafias are the worst in Europe. The Serbian mafia is on the decline when compared to Yugoslav times. Then they served as hitmen for the intel service, taking out neoustashas and Albanian terrorists.

Everybody knew Putin was corrupt as hell but it's nice to have it out there for everyone to see.

There's no evidence that Putin himself is involved. There's close associates with cash stashed abroad - though it seems that Russians were some of the biggest users of these facilities so it's difficult to make accusations.
Putin is probably involved though.

'Seems like just two French: Platini (former football player and president of the UEFA) and Cahuzac (former minister of *insert bullshit*).
It's kinda funny when you know that all those data come from on single society specialized in off-shoring. One.

Cahuzac (former minister of *insert bullshit*)
This is this guy's company. 'Cerman Group Limited'. https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/2777888-Cahuzac-Jeromedoc1.html Honestly these people are slimy and even if they used these companies for a good reason, their past behavior is bad already.
In other news PM Modi of India has called those associated with the leaks into an investigation.

Not surprising me much, really. There's more stuff out there that 'waits' to be revealed yet, in general.

Well the first victim of the leaks has fallen. The Prime Minister of Iceland has resigned after 10% of the entire country protested in front of the Parliament building yesterday. He may have been involved in the banking collapse that happened in 2009.

How so?
In Ireland:
Developer Ray Grehan used the law firm at the centre of the Panama Papers investigation to shield assets from the National Asset Management Agency (Nama).
Mr Grehan did not disclose to the agency his quarter share in a €50 million Dutch casino when it took over his debts of €300 million in 2010.
He transferred the stake in 2011 to a company in the British Virgin Islands (BVI) called Subiaco, established by Mossack Fonseca.

I have a hard time imagining that isn't illegal.
Fianna Fáil has called on Frank Flannery to answer questions arising from the Panama Papers, following publication yesterday of details about the financing of a London house purchase in the 1990s.

I'm imagining no-one will remember his name inside 3 days.

Ok he didn't cause the collapse, but he used the shell companies to hide away money that he would have had to declare as a conflict of interest. Then when the company lost money from the banks, he was still negotiating for the claimants even though he had a stake in the issue since he lost money. The deal he made gave himself $4 million. This is illegal in Iceland I guess.

Taking what I thought was a 'well-cleaned' political-economic running of the country since the economic crash, I thought it was good. I live to be proven wrong. :P

David Cameron apparently had an account and a protest will happen tomorrow. Somehow I don't think it will be as effective as the Iceland one, but maybe he will leave. Allegedly he stashed £30,000 overseas.

I've got doubts that he'll even get more than a rowdy couple of days in govt from opposition. He's hard to move to say the least.
Then again, I may be wrong, which would be great here tbh.

But the politicians are (most likely) leaching from your country while normal people can't. It's an issue of fairness, and it shouldn't be encouraged. This type of corruption is based on greed, and to me, greed is learned.
But according to the list, Netherlands is clean.

Wait NL is clean? That...surprises me TBH. In a good way, mind. Thanks for the info
