Hello, I am 17 years old and so far I'd say everything has developed normally. However, I am not very muscular and when I look at other guys my age they are mostly far more muscular than me. Now I understand many of them work out, but even the ones who don't seem more built than I am. So my question is, is this simply a matter of me not working out enough/ not having the proper diet or am I developing slowly/ is there a problem with my development? Thank you for any help :)

It could b in ur genetic makeup that
u r less muscular cause u r not far into
puberty but u might still b growing.
If u do work out more u can build up
ur body and eating a lot of protein
will help in muscle development.

Ushered with above .It's likely .Genetic and some guys are naturally skinnier or musclier however there are people who just spend hours lulling iron and also people who just get it from the life Style they live. But genetics is a big part of it.

Genetically you could be at a predisposition that might influence how your body grows but, with hard work and correct nutrition (Caloric surplus and high protein and carbohydrate diet) you could add pounds on easily. I've explained in length this idea a myriad of times on this site but I'll paraphrase here basically your muscles grow when stress is put on them and that couple with caloric surplus allows your muscles to grow and become stronger. So All 3 are a factor (diet, exercise/lifting, and genetics) Genetics although do not play such a large roll, it only applies once you start lifting really heavy.

I think it depends on the body type you have, and some guys are naturally more skinny/less built than others. Although working out might be a factor, it's likely even if you did work out you won't be as built as the others.

I used to be less muscular than most other people but then I went to the gym a few times (I mean a few) and I look a lot more muscular. Take that how you will.

everyone develops differently. I have a friend who is also 17 who is 5' 8" and looks like a twig. I, on the other hand, am 6' 1" and can bench 300 lbs. You will gain muscle naturally as you go on through life

It could be something as simple as your not working out, but you could be a naturally lean guy. My recommendation is that you might want to start working out and see what happens. Just stay away from those supplement things which can be really nasty stuff. If after six months you still look relatively small just remember that you might be naturally one of those guys who have zero fat and who is actually pure muscle as opposed to some guys who look big who might in reality be a mixture of fat and muscle.

might be development like diet. but also could be genetic predisposition for you to not have muscles. all depends
