Well, I have some open flesh wounds on my arms and they really aren't closing up. Any ways that I can do at home to help these wounds heal faster?

If it is Addison, I sugest you go see your GP, just for measure. So that they will heal quicker.

Atonement

Well, yeah but I think my GP would get a little "suspicious"

It's their job to. And they do it in your best intrests. I.E. your health and well being. You are never gonna' get any better if you do not go see a professional mate.

Funny, I see a therapist and everything, but this is incredibly off topic.

It's not. Maybe, depending on the length and depth of the cuts, go and buy some bandages, or the equivelant of Germalene (Anti-Septic Cream) and see what happen.

Neosporin I guess. But doctor is the best for this thing.

Wait, if you mean aren't closing up, does that mean they won't stop bleeding? If so you need to see a doctor.

Atonement

Well today, they have started to close up. And they aren't bleeding or anything. It is getting better. But they are starting to sting.

Have you used any antiseptic cream/spray because it may be getting infected?

Bobby
February 24th, 2008, 04:02 PM
I'd wash it really well and put some neosporin on it.

Atonement
February 24th, 2008, 04:07 PM
yes, I have washed an cleaned it, it just doesn't seem to want to like scab over and close...

are you, touching it/picking at it at all?

Atonement

well, not really, just looking at it about once every hour and a half.

Ok, well if it doesnt start to heal up, I'd recommend visiting a doctor because the longer its open the more chance germs/dirt can get into it.

Atonement

Ah ha! there is the dilema. Because if I got to a doctor... its kind of obvious what the wounds are from, and no one knows about them. And I want to keep it that way.

well, would you rather getting a infection that could kill you and make you seriously unwell.

thats what infections can do sounds extreme but its the truth.

Atonement
February 24th, 2008, 04:17 PM
I honestly don't think these will get infected with all the medical crap I have on them, but I just want them to close, because once the close, they dont sting anymore.

Well its a problem, say it was scratches from a dog or something. It needs to be sorted, otherwise the longer its open the harder it will be for you.

Atonement

scratches from a dog... sorry but that would be one hell of a vicious, evil, monstrously huge dog... lol

Yeah sorry, crappy idea, if you want the help the doctor will be there to help you.

If he asks about how it happened you can say you dont want to say.

Addison it sounds to me like you need stitches. That we cannot help you with and you need help from a doctor for. Ok? You need a doctor.

Atonement
February 24th, 2008, 07:34 PM
I dont need a doctor. I need a way to fix it at HOME.

Serenity
February 24th, 2008, 07:54 PM
There isn't a way to fix it at home. If they haven't closed by now you're putting yourself at serious risk.

Atonement
February 24th, 2008, 07:57 PM
well they have started to close at the very bottom of the wound. But yeah... I need to fix these at home. Like, no other option. I want the best option that I can do at home.

Serenity

Idk keep cleaning them regularly and find some large bandages?

won't your family get suspicious that your constantly needing bandages and antiseptic cream etc.?

Atonement
February 25th, 2008, 12:34 PM
not really, I am great at concealing that kind of stuff, plus they dont even open their eyes to the obvious

well eventually, your supplies of bandages and spray will run out, then it might run out again, your family will suddenly notice why there having to keep on buying more of that kinda stuff.

Atonement
February 25th, 2008, 01:01 PM
well, recently I went and bought my own stuff and everything, but this is getting a little off topic.

Yeah I suppose but still wouldnt it just be better if you saw a doctor who can sort you out and stop the stinging?

Good to hear theyre healing. I had a friend nearly die from deep self inflicted wounds. Clean em good, and if you can find anything like a tensor bandage thatd be good

February 26th, 2008, 03:12 AM

i know you don't want to but i really do think you should see a doctor. sounds like you need proper medical help. they won't get any better or you may get a nasty infection if you don't get it fixed properly.

Atonement
February 26th, 2008, 03:32 AM
Well, its been about 2 hours now and these wounds are still bleeding a little, not like before, but still bleeding for sure. And going to the doctor is all the way out of the question. I am scared.

Gumleaf
February 26th, 2008, 03:39 AM
well all i can say is keep the wound clean, that would help avoid infection. otherwise keep the bandages coming. but i'm pleading with you addison, please see a doc!

I can't, it is farely obvious where these wounds are from and I wouldn't be able to handle that kind of attention.

I think its getting beyond the stages of bandages, I think it needs to be healed using prescribed cream.

school nurse wouuld actual be 10 times worse than going to a doctor. my nurse is a psycho that if she sees any sort of cut, even if accidental she thinks you tried to kill yourself. definately not going there. loll

well you can't just ignore it. Tie an old shirt, sock, or tie around it to keep pressure on it

first things first
use hydrogen to sterilize the wound
the faster ure metabolism is the faster ure heal up
apply bandages and clean it regularly
