Hey guys, So im at the beach and im really embarassed because of my weight. So much that I wear a swim shirt to try and hide my fat. I think the shirt is really uncomfortable but being shirtless would be more uncomfortable. Do any of you have advice? (A question narrowed to fit and/or gay guys:) Do you judge teens your age with thier weight? Please be honest. Not being honest will not help me. Thanks!

Without being rude advice would be learn to accept your body or loose weight. Do I judge no and yes, I wouldn't say I'm not talking to him he's fat or to skinny ect I'm not like that but I wouldn't look and think he's cute or hot.

I dontk now I have your problem. I just got back from a beacj trip with my friends and the first few days I would not swim at all because I was a friad of my body but then I just said screw it and didn't care anymore. turns out no one actually cares all that much. they aren't going to take pictures or anything. and if they do, don't be in the pic

I know how it feels to be really ashamed about something that is hard to hide. In my case it was that I was 5 foot 2 at 15. Now that was something I had no influence on. You, on the other hand can make a change, but you have to do it yourself. My problem sorted itself since I am 5"11 now but your problem won't leave by itself. Take that feeling of shame and turn in into motivation to work on it. I am fit. I have a sixpack, but that doesn't matter. all that matters is that you can feel comfortable with yourself and that takes dedication. It will be hard but if it was easy everybody would be fit as fuck

I guess it depends on whether you want to be accepted or fancied.
Only an immature or uneducated buffoon would make rude remarks to you treat you badly because of your weight and you can always ignore such people or tell them to get lost (polite version). Any such behaviour reflects badly on them.
When it comes to being fancied some people will care and some won't.
If you decide you want to loose weight you need to eat a balanced diet and do a reasonable amount of exercise. Don't expect overnight results but if that doesn't have the desired effect you may need to control calories but you should probably speak to your doctor first and make sure you don't overdo it. The first step is to decide you want this and the second is probably to make sure your parents are on your side. You don't have to tell them you want to look "hot" - you can tell them it is just good for your health.

Would you describe yourself as fat or just overweight. Either way, I don't judge anyone over their weight but if you're just a bit overweight or even borderline fat then you've got nothing to worry about!

We all judge people because of their size, I personally do anyway. But being fat isn't the only reason to be in confident, I'm not fat but I wouldn't go shirtless. It could be to do with your general self-esteem also. Just learn to have more faith in yourself.

I do that too....I used to be stick skinny but in the past 2 yrs has put on a bit and now I've got a tummy roll, perky nipples & a full butt....Whn skinny I used to strip to my speedo/ undies and get to water....Now when I take my top off I get comments on how skinny I used to be, how I'm gonna get fat like dad and all sorts.....(I'm still underweight tho...just soft and skinny fat now)....I hate them...
Now I keep my undershirt / tank top on...and take my pants off to get into water in my undies...(I conveniently ''forget'' to bring swim clothes which will need me to undress and get to water properly).....
If only my family is around (trips to faraway beaches etc) I still take my top off...cos none of the nasty commentators will be....Guess I was so skinny that my bit of weight shows really bad....I'm super-sensitive to those weight comments I go beet red..

Well said. I'm bi and yes I do like guys a certain way, I have seen some guys that are a overweight and some that are fit trim and muscular. Well some of those trim and muscular guys are sometimes total "dicks" because they know they are good looking and their bodies are hot. One of my close friends is "chunky" as he calls it and we have experimented. It didn't matter to me about his body size or shape, we bonded and enjoyed our experience. Good luck to you.

Confidence comes in all shapes and sizes. Maybe you dont need to work out to learn to love your own body weight. Hopefully that helped :| i swim with a shirt on sometimes too but not because im not confident in myself i just like it sometimes lol

I'm not overweight but I do have friends who are overweight but make a joke out of it when they take their shirt off.. This could be an alternative if you felt you needed it

Just like some people are saying, maybe try and lose some weight. I did last year and felt great at the beach

I think gay guys feel more self conscious about their bodies than straight guys. I'm also overweight, and I basically hate the pool and/or beach. There's a good chance you're not the only one with a shirt on though. I would say do what makes you feel better, but that's just what I do...avoid the beach or swim with a shirt on.

I do swim team over the summer. I have these little lumps under my nipples. My doctor said they're normal and will go away, but its really embarrassing having to go shirtless with these little cupcakes for nipples.
EDIT: I am not overweight and I'm pretty active
