Fraternity housing is cheaper...

Care to elaborate on your thoughts? I'm not sure why fraternities would be attributed to violence. Or why would they be founded on violence.

Have you heard of Hazing?

Hazing is less about violence and more about getting as wasted as possible and making terrible decisions.

Fraternity, being bonded through an artificial brotherhood, can be a beautiful thing. In colleges and universities, frats and sororities are just excuses to get drunk and make friends. But the concept of fraternity is something that can be revered as military brotherhoods- strength through trust and loyalty.

Have you heard of Hazing? Yeah, gonne suffer it in about a week... But hey, college! :D

I am absolutely sure that hazing is many times exaggerated and most problems that arise, such as bruises, scars, and deaths, are miscalculations by the hazers' part. People that never drank before into comas or non-swimmers drowning after being tossed are more reckless acts with zero thinking rather than intended evil.

Anyone entering a fraternity should be aware of the risks and try to research previous hazing events of that fraternity. I don't think it's fair to ban fraternity humiliation hazing, but physical abuse should be treated as serious offences and hazing be illegal on campuses' grounds.
