Hello, I believe I have a short foreskin (I don't think I'm cut, there's no obvious scarring and I have a frenulum, though there's still a possibility that I am). I find it difficult to roll my foreskin over my glans when I'm soft, and it's almost impossible (but not painful) when I'm hard. Should I visit a doctor? Or is there anything I can do myself? Thanks for any replies :)

Hi Ethan, you could just have a short foreskin or it could just be a little tight. This happens sometimes and the best way to overcome it is just move it around sometimes, stretch it a bit up and down. That is all you need. I used to be the same. Don't worry!

Not so much as want, but I find it difficult and my glans is always exposed, even when flaccid (which is quite irritating).

Aha thanks for the advice :)

You could have a partial circumcision where only part of your foreskin got removed and it won't cover the whole head of the penis.

Living in the UK circumcision, even partial, as an explanation is less likely, though still possible. In our school PE class of about 60, two guys were circumcised - one for medical reasons and the other, I think, because he is Jewish.
Do you remember how your foreskin was before your penis started growing? My foreskin used to hang off the end so it formed a kind of nipple but then as my penis grew the foreskin seemed not to grow as much so now it just about covers the head but leaves the hole in the end of the head mostly exposed. I say mostly because if I pee without pulling it back just a little the skin can partially obstruct the hole and make the stream go off at an angle.
So the rest of your penis growing more than the skin is certainly possible.
I'm pretty sure you would be able to stretch it out over time. If people can "restore" foreskins after being circumcised, making it a little longer should certainly work. In your situation I'd look up foreskin restoration and see, being prepared to adapt what I read.

I remember going to my General Practitioner when I was young (around 4-6 maybe) but I think that was just an infection, I think I would've remembered any surgeries I had, and like you say, circumcision isn't very common in the UK, and my family aren't oriented with a particular religion.

Yes, I believe when I was flaccid, my foreskin used to hang over the glans.

I believe this may be the case, is there any chance the foreskin may lengthen and "catch up" with the rest of my penis?

Borrow some of mine! Mine's too long! Seriously though, if it doesn't hurt and it isn't causing you any other problems then it's not really necessary to go to a doctor.

The short answer is "I don't know".
I do know that when skin is pulled tight that then encourages it to grow. That means, for example, if the bone in your leg grows so it is longer and, as a consequence the skin on that leg is pulled tight, the skin will grow until it is no longer tight. Whether this is the only mechanism by which skins grows, though, I don't know.
if skin also grows spontaneously then I guess it could catch up on its own from that.
It is also possible that handling the skin, including masturbating, may stretch it. You could also practice this by pulling the skin forward when you have your penis out, for example to pee, and when you masturbate you can make sure each stroke pulls it as far forwards as possible. I can't say how effective it would be but you could try it.

Clearly people do perfectly well circumcised so it must be possible to be perfectly functional with whatever you do have.
Personally I reckon if it covers ridge at the back of the head when soft, so it ends part way down the head, that means you wouldn't have to do anything differently than someone who has a longer skin. That ridge, and the fraenulum (which is underneath - where the skin joins the head near the tip) are the two most sensitive parts of the penis - keeping the ridge covered will help it stay sensitive and you'd have enough skin that you can keep you thumb/fingers on the outside of your foreskin when masturbating, which is what most uncut guys do and means you can get away without needing lube.
So, it's down to what you want. If you're happy with reassurance then that's fine. If you want to try lengthening it that's also fine.

I wonder that you did not get used to it with the time.
After I had my frenulum cut a year ago. My foreskin rolled back over my glans once in a while when I was running or doing sports. At the beginning it was irritating too big time. Now I do not even perceive when my foreskin slips back and exposes my glans to the friction of my underwear.
Unfortunately for you there is only little chances to stretch your foreskin enough to cover your glans I think.

Why did you get your frenulum cut? Was it a health thing or personal choice?

It was too tight/short and therefore it hurt when I had sex. After the second time it ripped I went to the doctor who recommended this treatment.
