So, for me a kiss is a sign of intimacy, love and caring. The person I kiss most happens to be a male friend of mine, we're quite close tbh. First question: what does a kiss mean to you?
Second question: One of my female friends, she is perhaps one of my oldest friends, yet whenever I think about kissing her, I feel worried that she'd react in a weird way and avoid me etc, do any of you experience this?

ps, when I say kissing, I mean a kiss on the cheek or something not like full out on the lips lol

Oh if that's the case, prolly means endearment and friendship. If it's with your partner then it pretty much means love and endearment as well. It doesn't differ that much.

i kiss my parents, brother and friends on the cheek. family every day. my family is comfortable showing affection and it carried over with my friends when we were little kids so we still do it.

I suppose everyone has different comfort zones. My bro used to kiss his close female friends cheeks or foreheads, but he has a ridiculously confident and self-assured attitude to pull it off; without any awkwardness or questioning of his intent.

I suppose you could try, just make sure you lay the groundwork by saying something about appreciating her as a friend when you do. That way less chance of mixed signals.

I live in the amazingly WASPy socialite suburban Northeast, so there's not a lot of kissing unless it's your SO, family, or you're just Italian (very hands-on culture, not that I'm complaining).

oh

I kiss my mom and dad on the cheek when I greet them or I'm leaving. Also, with my family in France, they kiss you 3 or 4 times on the cheeks when greeting you :P No matter if you aren't immediate family, 4th cousin or what.

Nothing, I would find it weird if I wasn't kissing someone I was attracted to

On the cheek? Your family doesn't do that?

Yes but it's basically meaningless

My parents used to exchange kisses affectionately to me and my sister, I dropped it early but my sister kisses my mom on the lips (and she's 16, wtf). With other, I only kiss my girlfriend on the cheek and one gay friend that I was teasing :P

To me, a kiss means that you deeply care about someone.

Is it tradition to kiss your family members three times on the cheeks when you greet them here. Otherwise, you're rude. But I don't mind, it's not weird at all.

A kiss on the lips is more of a friendly-cute affection.
One on the lips is a more intense romantic one.

As to ur female friend-I would just ask her if u can give
her a kiss on the cheek when u feel like she deserves it.
U will get the message then if she shies away from it.
