Me and my boyfriend of 9 months are doing great! We love each other so much and are very serious in our relationship. There is only one thing that is bringing me down his mom.. His mom told him that this is puppy love and how you'll never up with your first love and how we'll never end up together and get married. I understand as you get older people can change feelings.. but I honestly cannot picture myself without him.. I've just been very upset by how his mom is very negative about this.. :(

I'm going through the same thing. I've been with my girlfriend for two and a half years. Up until we hit a year, her parents still refer to it as "puppy love." They honestly probably still do think of it that way, but choose not to say anything because we'll throw the fact that we've been dating for multiple years in their faces and win that argument. My suggestion is to make it to a year and then see if it still happens. It's entirely possible that they will still call it cute and meaningless, and that's just something you'll have to deal with. The key is to not care what they think and prove them wrong. Just keep the image in your head of him proposing to you in a high rise hotel suite overlooking New York City and then moving in together to start a life and then proceed to laugh in their faces. That's what I do except I'll be the one proposing. :)

Also I think age has to do with it. I assume from a previous thread you made that you are both under 16. Once you guys get older, they'll accept that you guys have a strong relationship. They probably doubt the strength of you guys since you both are youngish

His mum is only half right. She is right in that you MIGHT not end up with your first love getting married. However, she isn't right that it's impossible.
You two have a chance. 9 months doing great is rare for young people. Even I, who value relationships greatly, only managed to make my first (and only so far) last for one month before I fucked up. The fact that you've gone this long makes it far more likely that you can survive the hard things.
All I have to say is ignore her, and good luck to you two! I hope you do better than I did. Remember, the important thing is to help each other to grow and be there for each other. I always say that the emotional connection is the most important.
Good luck!
