So I'm gay but not out yet. Happy with that, fine with that, whatever. There's this guy I'm pretty good friends with, he moved here this school year, and we sit next to each other in band because of assigned seating/same instrument. So I'm always checking guys out (and pretty secretly I think: I'm really careful not to get caught) and sometimes I get a boner in there or whatever. And sometimes I'm waiting on my turn to play and I'm looking out the window or something and I'll turn my head and he'll be looking down at the bulge in my jeans. But the way my dick is resting, it's like not obvious I'm hard. It looks more like a soft but long dick. So it's like he's checking out what I got, and then sees its "big" so he turns to look again when I look away. I've made my dick look kinda big with positioning or whatever on purpose a couple times to test this, because he looks and I think he's cute, so I'd love it if he was secretly gay. He does a couple of other stereotypical gay things, like hair gel and stuff. And he's told me he's fine with gays but not super supportive or super homophobic. And he really likes sports. But not a big jock. Anyway, I tested the dick thing with a couple other cute guys in the same room when we had free time to sit wherever and none of them even looked down there to notice. So my question is, do you think he's gay or just straight and curious about what another guy has? And if you don't think he's gay, what do you think he would think in a few years when I eventually come out as gay. I really hope he would still wanna be my friend because we have fun as friends doing normal stuff like going to eat and movies and stuff in groups. It's fun, so let me know what you think.. is he gay? and if not, what do you think he'll do/say when I say I am? thanks! and I know this is weird but whatever..

I've always thought using hair gel and such is gay. ^^ But strange that even the toughest macho use it before going out fishing girls or so. :D

IMO the signs you listed are things you can observe on straight guys too.

To be honest whether the boy is really gay, you will really know when he admits to be gay. So I'm afraid, you've to ask him someday. or whenever.

I'd probably say he's not gay just curious. As for he's reaction when you come out can't promise anything but from what he said its a good start. Maybe just hint to him that you are so when you do say it's more I knew thing

Now, seriously speaking, those things you described can't really tell us if he's gay or not. Those gay stereotypes people use to determine someone's sexuality aren't really accurate. I think he's curious like any other guy would be. If you came out in a few years, I'd still think he would accept you for being who you are, because the type of friendship you two have sounds quite strong for him to simply abandon you in case he knew about your sexuality.

Also, do you consider him cute and that's all or do you actually have feelings for him?

Ask him, that's the only way you'll know unless... He tells you.
