Hey boys. I have a condition commonly referred to as pigeon chest, where an area of my chest protrudes a bit. It sucks tbh. It decreased my confidence by a lot and I find myself slouching more often to hide it. Anyone else have this too?

What does it look like?
Find some pics on the web or take a pic of yourself.

I have this aswell, the right side of my chest is sticking out. Completely normal in puberty. Gonna see a doctor next month, apparently a brace is needed to fix it.

I have a friend who has what u have
and he is into bodybuilding so his
condition is less obvious. His chest
is large but to b less self conscious
the more muscular chest makes it
a little bit better.

Well, you're you... I've never heard of pigeon chest but I'm sure it's not that noticeable. Every person is different in their body formations... Keep in there kiddo there is no need to be self conscious about it.

Yes, yes. Well spoken.

Corrective surgery? I don't know how bad it is. I googled it and saw some disturbing images but again, google projects the more notable cases. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about. Getting in a gym and building some muscle might make it less noticeable

I'd never heard of that before this

I've just looked it up and I can see why you might be self-conscious about it, if I had it I would be too. Maybe try wearing quite loose fitting clothes, that might help to disguise it, well make it not show up as much as if you had a tighter fitting shirt.

I have this. It's called pectus carinatum. It can be treated with a brace while ur still a teenager. The earlier it is treated, the easier it will be to fix. As the cartilage hardens it becomes harder to revert. My chest thing started growing when I was 11 and I still have it at 15. You can see a bulge on my chest in anything I wear. I got a brace to wear for it about a year ago, I've tried wearing it but the longer I have it on the more pain it gives me. It's so intensely uncomfortable after a couple hours. I'm thinking about having it surgically removed over the summer. I just don't like it being the first thing people notice about me, I'm not too worked up about it but I'd like it removed.Good luck to you.
