So this school fight video is viral on facebook, it took place somewhere a week or so ago, in Northern California.
Any thoughts? Have you seen this happen at your school? If you witness a school fights how do you feel about them?
I've seen both people who cringe, and those who are entertained by it, and those who know a backstory of why the fight is happening, and there's mixed reactions all across the board.
I'm not for it though, but I can't help but feel these things break out because adults are doing an inadequate job of stopping problems before they get out of control.
So they reap what they sow, in terms of supervisory ignorance.

I think it's funny. Once a fight happened in the hallway of my school and it was right in front of the classroom I was about to go into

Where I go to school, you would never see anything like this take place on school grounds. And if such a situation were brewing, it would be stopped before the fight ever broke out. My school has strict violence/bullying policies that are actually enforced. Seeing things like this makes me cringe, mostly at the people who are encouraging it.

That school has a zero violence tolerance policy, as did my junior high school, but zero tolerance policies don't stop fights, because nobody is thinking about the consequences beforehand. They're going into a fight probably because their fixated on an issue that pissed them off, their thinking is focused and linear.
The most recent one I saw first hand was intense, and it was two guys fighting over what I have no idea. But I definitely thought someone might've died when one guy bashed the head of the other guy against a metal bench.
But when the reason for a fight occurs because of something that happens or was said or shared (images or stories/rumors) on social media...well that's where adults and teens alike are failing.

It's more than just the policy where I go to school. Staff and students alike have gone to great lengths to make sure these things don't happen in an environment where we're supposed to feel safe. We're all very united.

I've only seen three fights happen at my school. One was an organized fight in the bathroom and was just for fun. The other two weren't even really fights. One was two guys who didn't like each other and were pushing. How dumb of them to do it right in front of the dean who broke it up. Then in gym class, two guys were overly competitive and began pushing and punching but, the teacher stopped it.
At parties, I've seen young adults fight and, it's gotten more serious. I think it's so trashy but, drunk people don't know how to use their words.
I'm a huge MMA fan so I love watching fights and, seeing them doesn't jar me. However, that's a sport. The fact that people can't use their words hand resort to violence, I find despicable.
As far as fighting at school, I think it's a reflection of the school and, I guess my school has done a pretty good job.

I used to be that obnoxious little shit who video recorded/instigated fights along with other classmates (A crowd usually formed during one). After the whole Sharkeisha situation that went viral, I don't do anything.

But in my opinion, something like that shouldn't get viral, let alone put on youtube/online in the first place. We're not even allowed phones at our school. If you caught using it, they confiscate it, and look through it (with your parents) if it keeps happening. So something like this wouldn't happen at our school really.

Ur school is full of wimps. Sometimes a fight is needed when someone turns u into an emotional wreck or spreads naked selfies of you without your permission. Whatcha gunna do, whine at them or complain? No, you make those bitches/bastards FEEL YOUR PAIN!!! Though I DO agree on this: fights should only be used when the situation is dire.

Yeah that fight got a little overboard, but fights per se are sometimes necessary to blow off hatred and rage (if people spread naked selfies of you illegally or something)

LOL, man that sucks for whoever's phone gets confiscated repeatedly. All their dirty little secrets, brought into the light.

Are they even allowed to look through your phone?!

This is what it says in our policy.
Apparently, it's against the law for a child to hold a photo of someone else under 16 without their parent's consent.

They say parents should know their children's passwords.

If the school administration checked my phone for evidence, I'd probably get the permanent boot. I literally have an archive of voice records/pictures of my teachers that were secretly taken throughout the year. Oddly enough, I have no fights recorded.

Gosh everyone (okay 80%) at my school has some mobile phone or at least a old flip phone.

I don't know why people stop to film fights. It's a real douche move.

I don't think it is, it's like what else ya gonna do; get involved in the fight?
At the end of today it's more evidence for the court and police later on.

Walk away. Regardless of what they do, they don't have to film it. Thing is, kids who film it most likely aren't doing it to aid in justice. They do it because "haha lol these guys are fightin".
The video was taken down before I could see it but if it's a schoolyard fight with a couple of kids then I doubt it's severe enough to get the police involved.

You're right, but I think judging those who film it is a skew issue, that actually has benefits to society at large regardless of intent.

It wasn't all that. Your typical school fight, even perhaps a bit less exciting.
