Family Rules, the same, different, or weird?

So I have a quick question, does anybody else's family require them to wipe down the shower after they finish using it, especially if you're the last one to use it.

Or is that just my family?

no, but I have my own shower which I pretty much am the only one who uses (besides someone who is spending the night with me or we got some other company over and need to utilize my bathroom as well). anyways I clean my own bathroom, but don't do it every time I take a shower or whatever

it makes sense though. I mean I guess it does not have to be done every time, but it helps keep things clean for the next person

We clean our shower, one more than the other because it's used more often, but not every single time someone uses it. I've never heard of anyone doing that before.

The idea behind why my family does it, is that it's supposed to slow the progress of the growth of mold, especially in the corners of the shower.

So it kinda makes sense, but I forgot recently because I had to rush off to school this morning and I got in trouble later in the evening. Oops.

We are expected to keep then clean but not required to wipe down after each shower.

My brothers and I have our own shower on our floor. So it is one of our chores to clean it. Hence we wipe it down after we used it.

Can I say "weird" as in "my family's weird"? We take a lot less care in keeping the house clean here, so it's not surprising me that I've never even heard of this before.

So wiping down means gettimg a towel and drying the shower walls?

Yeah and other cleaning jobs I'm expected to do. And they have to be done on time or I'm in trouble.

We don't have any rules about cleaning the shower or anything but I can understand the point of having that rule.

Yes. We have family rules which I and my sibs have to follow. Our parents have their own bathroom and we have ours. I and my brothers have to clean our bathroom and that includes cleaning both the bathtub (which has a shower fixture) and toilet. My sisters don't have any cleaning responsibilities for the bathroom, just us. They have other duties that we don't have to do such as the laundry, etc. I don't know if many other families have the same duties that we do. I know most of my friends don't.

No....my family doesn't have a wipe the shower down when your done rule. To be honest it sounds a little weird to me.
My sister and I do have chores that we have to do. And we do have to clean the bathroom we share like once every week and a half. But not every time we take a shower or bath.

I can kinda understand the rule if it is all boys in your house. My cousin has a rule where he has to spray down the tub after he is done using it. But that's as close as I can come to knowing anyone else with that same rule as you.

Yeah we have these things called squeegees in the shower which gets all the water off the walls. Every time we shower we're expected to wipe down all the walls/glass doors etc. It's annoying but by removing the water it stops bacteria forming on the grout between the tiles which takes even more time to remove with bleach than it does to wipe off the water.

Yeah its pretty much the same in my house. After I use the shower I have to wipe it down or spray it with a shower spray, but its my job to keep my own bathroom clean at all times.

I don't have to wipe down the shower unless 1) I dyed my hair. 2) I got in trouble and have to spotlessly clean the entire bathroom.

ive never heard of wiping down a shower right when ur done. i mean like how can u get the shower tht dirty after just 1 use? i think tht is a very weird rule. at my house my parents clean the showers maybe every 2 weeks

Nope. But usally the bathroom is cleaned up almost every day anyway.

My aunt has that rule of wiping out the shower.

Its to help prevent mold and water stains so it means u seldomly have to clean it

If there's hair or used/dirty razors in the shower, who used it [the shower] last has to clean it.

My older brother and I share a Jack and Jill bathroom and we each have to wipe down the shower after we use it. We don't mind though because that keeps it clean for longer.
