I tend to scratch myself a lot, like all the time. Sometimes it's when I'm upset, sometimes I just do it out of random impulses. I have drawn blood before, in pin-sized holes. Would this be considered SH?
Forgot to mention - it's been happening for a few months, but has increased in the last month due to relationship issues

yeah, think so. Falls under the category of picking maybe.
But i think thats more where you keep going at the same wound.
Really a coping mechanism for stress/anxiety. in autism it would be known as a stim.
i do it. especially the skin around my fingernails

I do it on my arms, back, you name it. Any ideas to reduce/stop it?

I'm not sure about self harm, it could be as Kasmir says, a coping mechanism. I have a sort of similar thing myself where if im really on edge I grind and clench my teeth until they hurt. I'm not trying to self harm by doing it per se, but I am doing it as a form of outlet. I dunno, but maybe it's a similar thing?

It does seem more like a nervous tic than a will to hurt yourself.

I have done that a lot and tried to convince myself that it isn't self harm, but really it could be, especially if you do it when you're upset, and I tend to do it if I get upset or anxious. If you catch yourself doing it, try to distract yourself with something else, especially something that keeps your hands occupied, such as drawing. Try to keep track of your triggers so that you have a better understanding of it. Take care Andrew

Self-harm is essentially harming yourself purposely, whether it'd be to help cope with pain or for any other reason. So if this is done purposely, then it would be considered self-harm to me.

I think it is, if you do it on purpose to hurt yourself..

i would consider it as self harm, as it is that you hurt your own body

I'd consider it such because you're intentionally harming yourself.

Yes this is considered self harm, and in my opinion, self harm is a passion just as blood is is beauty.
