Today, I went to see Bernie Sanders at the Denver convention center for an inspirational rally. While I love the passion in his voice, the accent, and the equality he speaks of, I am still to right-winged to vote for him. I went to learn, defend my beliefs and witness a progressive culture that is sparking throughout the nation. It was not enough to overturn my beliefs. He wants to increase the power of government so much that it is insane. Have we not learned from history what happens when a government is to powerful? Also, he wants to expand funding for planned parenthood. It has become a business that fuels the abortion industry. Even for my lovely pro choice friends, small abortion clinics provide far safer services while not making a profit. Again, he played the whole privilege and racism cards that infuriate me just ever so slightly. He is still a good man who cares about the general population. It was still a fun experience and I'm glad I went.
Some links containing photographs I took. One was really blurry because he was so far away, I apologize in advance.

several things:
- Bernie can't and won't win. he represents a populist movement that is counter to the inner Party's globalist/neoliberal agenda. if a Democrat does win, it'll be Shillary (Bernie could conceivably capture a bigger percentage of the popular vote than Shillary, but super-delegates).
- our hedonistic, amoral culture is what fuels the abortion industry, not Planned Parenthood. if Planned Parenthood disappeared tomorrow, people would turn to abortifacients or the ol' coathanger, illict pain pills and bottle of JD.

I appreciate your integrity and lack of bias. However, you do realize Planned Parenthood not only provides abortions but free, routine check-ups for young women, many of whom would otherwise not be able to afford a normal check-up from a physician? Most of the people that use Planned Parenthood are not going there for abortions.
As for big government being a bad thing, I guess FDR was an unnecessary president... who needs Social Security anyways.

They go provide birth control.
They do NOT provide mammograms:

Given that I know someone personally who at one time worked for planned parenthood, I can state that they are demonized unfairly.
Also the right wing agenda to stop abortion is also a false label used by the religious right, to hurt sexual education campaigns in various schools, and to encourage abstinence only, which doesn't work.
It definitely doesn't work when one reads through our own Puberty 101 forums.
It also at a scholarly level is and has never worked to discourage no sex.
Also the Bible makes it clear one HAS THE RIGHT to sin, and that includes abortion. So Christians can cry in a corner but they must tolerate evil and just not do it themselves.
Also Europe is pretty left politically and they're older than the USA is, as a country. With socialized medicine they seem fine, and according to happiness studies citizens are happier than American citizens are largely due to those "big government" programs.
It's fine if you don't like big government, but I expect you to give credit where credit is due, and not just make an emotional appeal to fear argument for keeping the status quo.

Did Jesus tolerate the moneylenders in the Temple courtyard?

He didn't kill em. He was super stern, but he tolerated their existence, hence he threw them out since they're hearts were about money and not the faith.
He also tolerated being dragged away from Peter, and when Peter attempted to save him. He told him if he lived by the sword he would die by it.
There is an inherent implication and direct implication of tolerance, yet call to repentance throughout multiple books of the bible, including that of Revelation, where restraint is shown by God until God says it's time to pour his wrath upon Earth.
I could cite the verses, but there are so many of them it shouldn't be hard to find.
You can sin, it's just understand the trade off of going to hell. But I'm willing to bet a chunk of people who would sin anyway don't feel threatened because they probably don't believe in God anyway, so the bible's threats are empty to them.

Killing is not having the rule of law. On the Christian account abortion is murder. Surely Jesus's intent wasn't that murder shouldn't be condemned and fought against?

Abraham Lincoln, he paved the way for centralization.
The US Government became centralized after the Articles of Confederation (State Power) were tossed out in favor of the Constitution (Federal Power with non-delegated powers going to the states) we have now. That was way before Lincoln.
