Prevent STDs while giving oral?

Hey, y'all.

So, preventing STDs when having sex with a guy or with a girl is pretty easy, unless you're performing oral sex on her... How could you prevent yourself from getting one during oral sex with a girl?

They have this thing called a dental dam, its like a sheet of latex that you would put over top of her vagina before you perform oral sex. Some of them come in flavors or just plain.

That wouldn't help at all, just ruin the moment. All contact can lead to an STD, just not at the time of climax, for either party.

All contact can led to STI's, not just the orgasm. Abstaining from sex is the safest way to avoid contracting an STI. However, that's unrealistic for many people. The next best thing is to get tested and have your partner get tested. If they truly care about you, they will get tested for you. If they don't care about you, why are you getting with them in the first place!?

So at my school 3% of girls over 15 have syphilis, chlamydia, gonorrhoea, genital herpes, genital warts or human papillomaviruses? So the HPV vaccination was a waste of time?

Getting tested regularly, while you are sexually active is a smart idea. I get checked every 4 months or before. Another option is cutting a flavored condom or one with flavored lube on it. Stretch it out over the vagina and use it as a protective barrier during cunnilingus(going down on a girl.)

That doesn't help any. simply touching a penis, or any part of the body with an STD can give you an STD. I'd suggest a condom, and to only grab the part of the penis covered by it if possible.

Better yet, you could just both get tested (At the same time, and together!) or not do it at all.

You can also make a dental dam from a latex glove.

I have never seen a dental dam in my local CVS (drug store) but you can always get gloves.
