Well I'd refrain from all sexual activity for a while until this Zika virus stuff ends.

It's super contagious, seems to hold potential to spread by mosquito, blood transfusion, urine, feces, and sexual activity.

It deforms babies, and has made adults paralyzed.

Isn't semen just like, proteins and some other stuff...like the actual sperm. I don't see how it could be bad for ya. Unless it has an std in it. But it's probably more healthy than anything McDonald's has : )

It's basically harmless to consume orally unless your partner has an STI. Having said that, oral sex for both guys and girls can cause oral concer (google will provide all the answers).

Having said that, the chances are small but I did raise it with my GP and got tested. That's more of an extreme precaution not to harm the one I love though, and I appreciate is extreme.

It only has potential to cause oral cancer because of an STI pathogen right?

Or are you suggesting it can spontaneously occur due to a natural variable in semen or vaginal fluid?

Like others have said, the only thing you should worry about are STDs. If your partner is clean then swallowing it shouldn't do any harm to you.

As I said Google is better for providing long answers, but to answer your questions, not really.

HPV is naturally occuring although evidence seems to suggest it becomes more likely after 3/4 partners or more. Here's a link; http://www.nhs.uk/Livewell/STIs/Pages/oral-sex-and-cancer.aspx

It wont hurt you. lf you want to swallow, go for it.
You can disregard the rest of the rubbish posted here, the chances of catching something are virtually nil. lf it did you any harm, half the girls on here would be dead given the amount of guys some of them seem to have sucked.

Although I would not be doing it myself, swallowing semen is like swallowing anything you need to be sure it won't do you any harm , in the case of semen being infected with as sexual transmitted diseases. So just be careful Brenda. X

Semen actually has benefits. High in protein, low in calories.

I've always swallowed my boyfriends cum, and I've always thought it was actually supposed to be good for you, and I personally love the taste.

As long as you trust the guy (and if you don't why are you sucking him off unprotected anyway), you should be fine.

Semen for itself is natural. But, as you mentioned in your case; you have several partners and therofore you should be aware from stds. The ejaculation can transmit deseas. THe only protection from that is a condom

Meh that's debatable on so many levels and situations.
ClaraWho that was an interesting study. Thanks! Weird how that study said performing oral on a woman appears to have a higher rate of infection than someone giving oral to a man.

These risk factors include:

- ever having oral sex
- having oral sex with four or more people in your lifetime
- among men, first having sex at an earlier age (under 18)

Currently, there is very little research that has looked at the possible risks from giving oral sex to a man compared to giving oral sex to a woman. But we do know that HPV-related oropharyngeal cancer is twice as common in men than women, and is most common in heterosexual men in their 40s and 50s (compared to the rates in homosexual men).

This indicates that performing cunnilingus (oral sex on a woman) is more risky that performing fellatio (oral sex on a man). This seems counterintuitive, but the concentration of HPV in the thinner, moist skin of the vulva is much higher than the amounts of virus shed from the thicker, dry skin of the penis, and this affects how easy it is to pass the virus on. Other research indicates that HPV can be present in semen and passed on at ejaculation.

What is definitely known is that other infections are spread via oral sex, including herpes, chlamydia, syphilis and gonorrhoea, so it makes sense to protect yourself and your sexual partner by practising safer oral sex.'

Just a different prevalence of natural bacteria that is harmful. Worrying article to think about! By the way, the link comes from the UK's National Health Service so is accredited.

ok...go ahead if you like. But be sure that the person is free from any STI infection.
