Given the late breaking news of the last 24 hours that the Zika virus (which is transmitted by mosquito mainly) be transmitted to uninfected women by an infected male (unbeknownst to him being infected in the first place) via sexual contact, including that of intercourse, how does this impact how quickly you jump into bed with someone for sexual activity?
To be honest I'm going to be a little more strict or old fashioned now given this latest breaking news.
@Mods, this can go into general healthcare thread, relationships and dating, and the puberty for all threads, I really want this topic to generate the most discussion and get the most eyes. Given that I know a lot of sexual behavior topics are discussed in puberty I thought about posting it there but forgive me if this is also the wrong place to post this as well. I think it overlaps in all 3 threads for relevant discussion.
It will impact dating and relationship behavior on the physical side of things but also general hospital issues a well.

Considering that no one has responded I guess I'll throw in my two cents, even though I think it has nothing to do with me since I am already in a committed relationship for the past 4 years.
However, I think this should definitely be something that people should be aware about and watch out for. I have read the article about this virus on WedMD, and I can't recall, but isn't there like no way to know if you have it since there aren't really many symptoms? Maybe I am forgetting (and I don't have the page bookmarked), but even if there were symptoms, I think people will only take this virus serious for the next few weeks and then it will just be another sweep under the rug along with the myriad of other viruses that are out there.

We'll see it depends on if it mutates.
If it keeps deforming babies, and spreading like it has, I doubt it'll disappear from the news soon.
Then I suspect Donald Trump could also immortalize the topic if he ties disease spreading to his immigration topic again.

As for me this health issue affects my dating life because my partner travels a lot.
If he gets bit my Mosquitos and them shows no symptoms and then he visits me....it is theoretically possible I could be in a situation where I'm infected too via sexual activity and possibly pregnant too because of said activity.
Argh frustrating.

Same old, same old for me. I'm already supposed to be worried about mosquitoes because of the dengue fever, and now the same mosquito might carry this new one. Great. Love living in Brazil.
Other than already avoiding mosquitoes by having a net on the windows home, what more can I do? Meh.

Yeah pregnant girls and women are in trouble in Brazil and Latin America and Mexico in general.
But specifically relating to Brazil, your country has a huge homeless and criminal populace who are also probably professional thieves and hookers as young as 7 I've heard. If those girls get pregnant and are infected with Zika, I can see how this disease will spread like wildfire, since it is sexually transferable.
