What are some odd rules your parents have or had for you at one point.
Until I was 13, I wasn't allowed to watch South Park, Family Guy, King of the Hill, or Futurama; just those shows though... I was allowed to watch shows just as vulgar or more or even worse, like the Boondocks or Robot Chicken. Seriously, I watched Boondocks with my dad a lot when I was 9, but never King of the Hill or the other shows I mentioned... Weird stuff.

My mom had a bunch of counterproductive rules about schoolwork. One in particular, she had me redo an English book a couple times, which had nothing I didn't already know, but she thought it was outrageous for me to take matters into my own hands and learn things I was actually interested in. I use this educational website which has lectures and exercises on pretty much any subject; I used it to learn more about math and science. She didn't like it then, but she doesn't give a shit now.

When I was little, I wasn't allowed to say "Are you fudging kidding me?" because it sounded like fucking but I was allowed to say "Are you freaking kidding me?" because that was totally innocent.

My parents don't really have weird rules but my grandmother kinda does. She doesn't allow my brother and I to watch or play "violent" video games and she limits time on any electronic device. Guess it's not really "weird", just unusual for me because I'm used to it

"freaking" is also naughty in my house. And I'm still not allowed to swear!

Apparently 'God' is a swear word in this house full of Christians.
Also, I'm not allowed to use the actual shower and use a shower head stuck on a pipe on the end of the bath tap.

Honestly I think that's a nice think to do. However, it's silly to be imposed as a rule.
I can't think of any weird ones my parents had, I'm sure there were some and they were most likely with good intentions and for the best.

I'm only allowed female friends in my house if my mum has done what Robert de Niro did to Ben Stiller in meet the parents :3

Ah, yes, fond memories of my grandmother watching me and my brother.. She would make us go to sleep at 9 PM sharp because my parents never said otherwise. If we said that we're old enough to choose our own bed time, she would assume we're lying and that was that.

Oh, I remember sleeping over for the first time at a friends house and I said something like "Oh my god, Luke, that was awesome!" His parents overheard and had a chat with me. They were nice about it as I didn't know the rules, but there was an underlying feel to the way they spoke... It was as if I really offended them. I didn't ever go back... haha

My dad had a rule where I wasn't allowed to get a drink of water or go to the bathroom after I went to bed. Even in my teens, as far as I can recall...

Is that unusual? I thought that was normal.

Yeah we're not allowed out of our rooms after 10. I don't know if I still get punished for it, but my sister does. I don't really understand why... my parents are so unnecessarily strict!

I didnt have any rules as such but my mom had some embarassing haibits.
If we go to a cousins/friends place we'd always stay super late...she will get me to sleep in a sofa and when I fall asleep she'd take my pants off....leaving me in my undies...and roll my tee up my tummy....It is really embarrasing to be woken up to go home to look down and see myslef in my briefs...in front of all relations/friends....
She says she did this to make me sleep comfy and cool down there...I had to cry and make a tantrum at 14 or so for this to stop...
