I hear a lot of people say that it painful for them but from I could remember it was never painful for me and maybe cause I have very loose foreskin and mom told me I need to peel it back to clean property but I never did it cause I was scared. In my case, as a young boy no-one ever told me to peel it back and at the time it formed a kind of nipple, i.e. overhung what I now know to be the head of my penis by enough that the skin would direct the flow and I was able to aim without any problem.

I do remember peeling it back for the first time which would almost certainly have been around the start of puberty when suddenly I seemed much more aware of my penis. I don't have a definite age but it would have been before I was able to ejaculate (which happened late 11, nearly 12) so I am guessing maybe early 11 or late 10.

I remember being intrigued at finding the head inside and also noticed some smegma. The head was also very sensitive. I didn't have any part of the skin still adhering to the glans and as best I remember I cleaned away the smegma and allowed the skin to roll forward again.

My experience was strange compared with these, as mine went in stages.

I knew about retracting the foreskin since I was 8 or so (I saw a friend do it). Mine was tight and would only open a bit, then a bit more etc over time. My doctor had suggested I retract to pee (as far as comfortable), and in middle school one day it just came back 100%. But still if I was the least bit hard, it would be difficult to pull back.

This is a little bit embarrassing but I only really tried pulling my foreskin back when I was 14. I usually just tried doing it in the shower, and every time I tried the foreskin would be able to retract a little further with a little pain (although the pain was not bad). Eventually I was able to get it all the way to the end of the head, but can only pull it back all the way if soft or partially hard.

Mine has always been loose due to an operation on it when I was younger but I never really pulled it back until I was about 10 or 11 when I started learning more about it. The earliest I can remember is when I was in the bath and I got intrigued and there was loads of smegma at the bottom of the head. I've cleaned it pretty much daily since then.

Sometimes, kids will try to retract, but they'll generally stop before forcing it back further than it can go on its own.

I think the adhesion in that case would only be at the tip. So the skin inside is movable.
