I'm wondering, when a thread/post gets deleted, does a person's post count go down? This doesn't happen on Proboards forums and it kinda irks me...

Yes, if your post is deleted from a section where post count actually increases (so, not Introductions, VT Arcade, or diaries), your post count will go down.
