I would like to know the definition, from you guys, of CLOSE friends and BEST friends. What would CLOSE/ BEST friends do from a regular friend and how you would define a REGULAR friend?

I'd define 'close' by the friends I actually talk to and spend time with outside of college. Regular friends are people that you can have a laugh with in class or college or at parties but you don't necessarily spend much time with them alone. If you think about the people that you talk to one-to-one often then you'll realise it'll probably only be a couple of people - they're who I'd say I'm 'close' to, when I feel completely comfortable being myself around them. My 'best' friend is just an extension of close, shes the person I've known the longest, been there for me for years and we've been on holiday together multiple times with each others families and just the two of us. When you're considered part of the family you've got to be more than close xD

i have 3 close friends that i've known for at least eight years. we have done all kinds of things together, we make each other laugh and tell each other most of our secrets and desires, and no one judges each other.
my best friend is almost my second brother, in fact i may be closer to him than my bro. i don't have any secrets, desires or thoughts that i haven't shared with him, and he with me. he's the person i go to for a hug when i need one, in fact we probably hug every day. he is also the one who's shoulder i can literally cry on, and have several times. i know he loves me unconditionally, just like my brother does, i love him the same way.

Regular friend: any person you like and regularly or semi regularly do stuff with. Very vague. Could be 100 or more people.
Close friend: You share secrets and probably don't go more than 2-3 days without talking or texting.
Best friend: self explanitory ... but you may have 2-3 best friends.

I wouldn't say I had one 'best' friend in particular . A few close friends, you can talk things through if you are worried or anxious. Then just regular friends.

This is how I tell the difference between a Friend and a Best Friend
According to Buddha: A true friend, the one with whom a man ma safely associate, will always stick closely to the right way, will worry secretly about his friends welfare, will console him in misfortune, will offer him a helping hand when he needs it, will keep his secrets, and will always give him good advice. It is very hard to find a friend like this, and, therefore, one should try very hard to be a friend like this. ** This I believe and live by because no words could have ever been spoken any truer than these. I would be so blessed to have such a friend and to be able to be such a friend to someone.

A close friend is someone you can talk about the real shit with and depend on when shit goes bad.

I've got both close friends and regular friends, but not a best friend. Okay close friends; they're like family to me, I treat them like my older or younger siblings. They're the ones I can call or text in the middle of the night. We can share anything and everything. We're each other's matching glove (is it weird to use "glove" to describe it? eh, whatever. I think it suits:)) - and we're very protective of one another. Regular friends; mutual love but nowhere near as strong and intense as the close ones. They're people who I talk to about simple everyday things, people who I still love spending time with. I don't know...I guess regular friends just aren't...as close?
Btw I just realised after an entire lifetime of obviously not paying attention to myself, that I am so terribly bad at expressing and explaining things. I agree with what Living said though, 100%.
In addition, I think it's important to be able to have really good friends you can confide in and go to anytime you need someone. Friends who don't give up on you. They are your real friends and they are the people who will stand by you no matter what.

I feel like I'm more emotionally unattached to my friends compared to my best and closer friends. My friends are people I like to be around and will actively try to hang with. I wouldn't tell them about all of my life problems and insecurities. My best friend/close friend is someone I can share everything with, yet we can still have countless inside jokes.

With my regular friends I don't usually talk about personal things like. Dirty things or whatever, we don't hangout as much, we don't talk as much. My best friends we hang out pretty much every weekend. We talk about anything, were a lot closer. I trust them more as well.
