View Full Version : Sending nudes

Hey guys!
So, I'm 17 (8'2 when erect) and I'm pretty fit too, like I do P.E as one of my main subjects while playing basketball outside of school too. I was wondering what the general view on sending nudes to randoms was. I'm pretty confident with my body, so sending all of it is kind of like a self esteem sort of thing, idek. Should I be sending them?

I don't think u should just send them randomly .. And I know here it's illegal if ur under 18 . Even to people you know

It's technically illegal to do so but many people do so anyway. I do not recommend you send them to random people online, you never know who you are really sending it to and it could end up being published publicly online which wouldn't be nice for you. Best thing to do is just not send pictures of yourself, honestly.

Just remember that everything you put on the internet will stay there forever and should always be considered being public.

So you should post nothing that you wouldn't also put in any other public place. At least, make sure that no one can recognize you on whatever you post...

aye, it's illegal. can get you on the sex offender's register if reported, or forwarded by who you send to. this can stop you getting into the US for example

Are you for real?
Sorry I'm not trying to be mean but this feels like a joke but I'll answer seriously anyway.
Dude DO NOT send nudes to anyone. Whether you know them or not. It's seriously the dumbest thing u can do. It could ruin your life. This boy at my school did it and the girl showed it to all her friends and it basically got sent to every kid in school then finally teachers saw it and the principal and then the boy's parents
That's a freaking nightmare. Don't u think?

Never ever ever send nudes.
Like seriously, not even to gf/bf. People will keep them and use them revenge porn style on you. I know someone who sent a dick pic on snapchat and now everyone in the sixth form has seen it after they posted on the noticeboard.

honestly, you're a minor, so it's not illegal for you to send them. it's only illegal if the person you send them to posts them. at least in the U.S. but it sounds like you have nothing to be embaressed about. I'm not saying to send them. I'm saying do whatever you want

I take it you don't intend to run for high political office then?

If you do the press and your opponents will be looking for "skeletons in your cupboard". If your pictures have been published on the internet they may well find them and, while you may not be embarrassed to appear nude on the front page, plenty of people will see that as reason not to vote for you. If they don't find any skeletons on their own your opponents and the press may well offer a bounty and one of the randoms may step forward.

Of course, not all employment has such superficial selection criteria but there are some lines of work or activities that would be closed to you if nude pictures of you were in the public domain. Some people, porn actors in particular, obviously make a choice but if you are going that route you may as well be paid for it.

Seriously, you need to think very carefully about this.

Please do not do it. Your photos can be hacked from the internet and posted online for everyone to see. It is a trap. Plus this is not puberty related, how is this allowed?

I have no problem with it. I do it. But you should know that if you're caught with them, even if it's your own body you can go to jail for child pornography, just keep that in mind.

No way a minor would go to jail for having naked photos of himself.

Actually, you can. Even if it's yourself. And to the guy who claims it's not illegal because you're under 18, you're incorrect as well.
It's just a stupid thing to do, honestly. Especially around school where even the closest "secrets" can get let out all too easily. If the law doesn't stop you, just imagine a girl that you'll get feelings for next year getting a hold of them. Or imagine a teacher finding them or finding out. It doesn't matter who deleted what - as soon as proper authorities get involved, anything that's been digitally transmitted can and will be visible. That being said, many many people do it. I dare say it has a relatively low risk given its popularity. But you never know what the person on the other side will do with it. Be smart about it.

Actually, you can. Even if it's yourself. And to the guy who claims it's not illegal because you're under 18, you're incorrect as well.

I can't speak for all countries in the world but I suspect in many places the answer to whether you would be prosecuted or receive any significant penalty is "It depends on someone's discretion".

It might help to understand a little about English law which will apply to some extent to other systems derived from English law. First, courts hear cases and each case has two sides: someone who is complaining to the court about wrongdoing (the plaintiff) and someone defending himself against that accusation (the defendant).

In civil law, which deals mainly with contracts and business dealings, it is up to the victim, having been unable to settle his differences with the person he is accusing, to take that person to court called "suing him", i.e. complaining to the court that the other person's wrongdoing has caused him distress (such as losing him money) and asking the court to put the matter right.

By comparison criminal law is concerned with wrongdoing that affects people's lives in general. Criminal law sets out offences - acts that are generally unacceptable - and punishes those who perpetrate them to act as a deterrent and to create respect for the law. There is still a plaintiff and a defendant but the plaintiff is generally not the victim. In England the plaintiff is the Queen (or King); in other places it may be "the people" or "the state of wherever" but either way a public official has the job of deciding whether to bring the case to court in exactly the same way the person wronged in a civil case can choose whether to sue.

One of the things the public official concerned with consider is whether prosecution is "in the public interest". Where the accused has technically broken the law but most people would nevertheless consider he was behaving reasonably and therefore prosecuting would be more likely to lead the law being regarded as stupid rather than an effective deterrent prosecution would not be pursued.

A concrete example of this is age of consent laws. If the age of consent were 16 and a boy of 16 years 1 month had sex with his girlfriend who was 15 years 11 months this would technically be "statutory rape" but the public prosecutor may decide not to pursue it. Clearly this is not what the age of consent law is about - it's on the books to stop adults from having sex with children whom they claim consented but where the child did not understand enough to give informed consent or, because of the power dynamics, the child dare not refuse. As neither of these would apply in this case, and prosecuting would more likely lead to people calling the law "an ass" rather than respect it, the case would probably be dropped.

Having nude picture of yourself while you are under the age required to be the subject of indecent images could be another case in point.

None of this changes that you never know what the future holds and if you trust someone with naked pictures of you at some time in the future you may fall out and the pictures may end up on the internet where it may have repercussions.

I think its better for you to not sending nudes pic especially if u are under legal age. I know some of my friend who did it but I never involved with them. I have friend who post my nude from skinny dipping once on group chat , but I'm not underage and it's not a sex activity whatever.

depending on where youre from and who youre sending them to, it could be very illegal for you to be doing such a thing. I dont think its such a good idea to be sending randoms out there because you never know who might be seeing what youre sending. Being confident about your bod is cool, I am about mine, but to broadcast it to the world in such a way... mehh!!

Harrier

definitely don't do it to random people. If you want to send it to friends and you understand it's potentially illegal then go ahead. I haven't heard anyone getting in trouble for it when done right, but people from my school have gotten in trouble when they send it to the wrong people.

there's always a risk, but if you're confident about yourself and it otherwise helps you develop self-esteem you could keep doing it! if it's just randoms, the odds of someone you know getting their hands on a picture are very, very small.

i'm not so much for sending nudes myself, or, well, anything sexual, really, but if you enjoy doing it you should definitely keep going on!

Then this guy messages me about this shit, whilst at the same time he's sending me a picture of his banana looking dick.

Not sure how this is puberty related...but I will answer this the same way I answer all these types of questions.

I don't recommend or condone it at all but having said that, those who do it should and (I would say) most likely do know the consequences of doing such lurid acts. Be careful what you wish for.

Beware of trusting either mobile phone apps, PC software or web pages that appear to, or purport to, stop people from capturing images.

As an example, an app that manages to enforce than on a normal phone may not be able to on a rooted Android phone or a jail-broken iPhone and you don't know if the person at the other end has a rooted phone or not.

Similarly you don't know what PC skills the person at the other end has. Let's suppose you've found some Windows software that prevents screen shots, Someone only has to run Windows inside a virtual machine (MS Hyper-V, VirttualBox etc.) and the host OS will be able to take screenshots of the guest OS window regardless of safeguards the program running on the guest tries to take.

At the end of the day it comes back to the previous discussion - you should not share anything which you wouldn't want to released to the public at large.

Aye but sometimes if there is no face included in the pic then surely the low chances of a predator or someone who would expose you is not that big a risk.

I think it's really degrading. Especially if it's with girls, but even with guys it is degrading. It's sexual and sexual actions should only be with people you love. Nudes take away from the value of who you are and how you look by just sending them to anyone. Only people you love should see you naked and that should not be over the phone. It's not authentic in that case.
