I wasn't sure if this went in here or in the food forums, if it's not in the right place move it.

I just wondered how many others on here have food allergies or intolerance? I have a lot.. lol. I felt lonely in it, and I was just wondering how many others of you have them too? It's amazing how overlooked it is, I mean a lot of people have them but people seem to think if you eat just a little you will "be okay."

If you do, what are you allergic/intolerant to?

I can't have:
-sunflower seeds/oil (anaphylaxis)
-red dye (40, 5, lake, doesn't matter.) (anaphylaxis and vomiting)
-fruits except for bananas, apples, and strawberries (anaphylaxis)
-spices - like chili powder and paprika (anaphylaxis and vomiting)
-tomatoes - sauces, bases and powders too (anaphylaxis and vomiting)

And we think I'm developing a gluten intolerance. I have a really crappy immune system. I carry an epi-pen everywhere now because it's like I keep finding more and more foods that I can't have. They finally decided to do testing again and we get the results in a couple weeks. Looking like I'm gonna have to go back on allergy shots (which I utterly despise.)

Anyone else?

Some fruits irritate my mouth and nose.
The adhesive on most bandages leaves red welts.

I have celiac (autoimmune disease that causes my body to attack itself whenever I eat gluten) so I can't eat wheat, barley, or oats. I also have lactose, fructose, and sorbitol intolerances. If you think you have a gluten intolerance, you should get tested for celiac. I would have never thought I a million years that I would have celiac, but I feel so much better now that I'm off gluten. The first step is a simple blood test, and then an endoscopy if you test positive. It's worth it, trust me. If you have celiac and it goes un diagnosed it can lead to osteoporosis, infertility, arthritis, and more.
