Idk exactly, it was basically my parents who asked. I'm Australian as well, so maybe that's why. My bro always liked the idea and wanted it. It's not very common here, about 1 in 10 is cut. I wasn't teased, but asked alot.

I didn't know much about it and wasn'T asked how I wanted it to be done, my bro wanted it to be tight.

I was 16 and it was done at the urologist's office with a (well, several) local injections. I was awake and listening to iTunes though some guys get it done with a general. As a kid I had dental work after a hockey mishap and to be honest, that was worse!

It was personal choice. My parents offered to pay but the urologist justified the procedure because my foreskin was fairly long and a bit tight though retractable. It ended up going towards my insurance deductible, so ma and pa had to pay part of it anyhow. (I just learned this recently). Maybe more detail than u wanted.

Harrier spoke about the pain. The part I disagree with is that if someone gets it done as a baby, the EMLA cream they use has a big warning on it to not use near or on open wounds and not use on the genitals of children. :what:

Now, if someone opts for having it done on their own, that's totally fine...but just because a foreskin is "long" doesn't necessarily mean it should be amputated. Many times, it's not fully retractable until puberty. Sadly, a lot of doctors think "oh, he's two and it's tight. let's cut it off" when that's just faulty logic.
