Today Mein Kampf is now in the public domain. It freely exists on the markets. It's future is open and is no longer controlled by Bavarian oligarchs. Now it's message can be freely and legally spread throughout the world.
Thoughts?

That sounds fantastic.
Just one day after Het Achterhuis.

I think there's enough lunacy on the Web already; another mediocre rambling won't make much of a difference.

I own a copy of Mein Kampf.

One day, I'll read it through and through.

I have mixed feelings on this, I think it's good that people will be able to study Hitler better. But I also think that it could influence people badly.

There was a chapter of Main Kampf contained in a collection of essays I read once. I got about 15 lines in before realising I couldn't even read this thrash for academic reasons.

It's always welcome to see nonfiction made free though I think.

This human world of ours would be inconceivable without the practical existence of a religious belief. The great masses of a nation are not composed of philosophers. For the masses of the people, especially faith is absolutely the only basis of a moral outlook on life. The various substitutes that have been offered have not shown any results that might warrant us in thinking that they might usefully replace the existing denominations. But if religious teaching and religious faith were once accepted by the broad masses as active forces in their lives, then the absolute authority of the doctrines of faith would be the foundation of all practical effort. There may be a few hundreds of thousands of superior men who can live wisely and intelligently without depending on the general standards that prevail in everyday life, but the millions of others can not do so. Now the place which general custom fills in everyday life corresponds to that of general laws in the State and dogma in religion.

well hell, I agree

Hitler was right general? :D

Pretty sure /pol/ has become a substitute for Mein Kampf anyways.

Agreed. Anyway, I assume Hitler's biography has been downloaded millions of times as eBook from the usenet or so.

So there's not much more change through the public domain status, i guess.

I read MK as I was 13yo. And I found it very boring. Not even Nazi Zombies were mentioned.

uhmm, wait ... Hitler was the zombie. His narrative style reads accordingly like watching a 5cent-movie or such. I claim just dulls are excited by this writing style. Apparently in Germany around the 1930s mostly zombies existed.

The copyright was still with a Bavarian publishing house.

The Free State of Bavaria was holding the copyright since 1945 when "Franz Eher and Successors, LLC" (publishing house) was banned. All its intellectual and material property was transferred to the state of Bavaria.

There's just one flaw:

I'm Ourrewaeller (Citizen of Odenwald; means a intellectual type of grunting hillbillies living in the wooden wilderness of South-Hesse) and no östereichischer Grenzbajuware (residents of Austria living in the bavarian border area), like Hitler was. And just Austrians can be Führer in Germany, or Hitlers decendants living in the US or Donald Trump maybe.

But I'll start drawing my life as a graphic novel right now. Thanks for the transpiration. *g*

Does anyone really reads these books anymore?

Given the historical significance, sure they do.

For intellectual Age-of-Aquaria-Nazis it's still a must read as it is the Capital according to Marx for communists.
