What does a girl think when I open the door for her?

At the moment I am at home an i have Christmas-Holidays. When I see her she often smiles at me. And when I see her I often smile at her.
In the last days at school I opened the door for a girl. She smiled at me and said: "Thanks"

What is she thinking about me? Should I speak to her?

When you open the door for a girl, she probably thinks you are a gentleman and that it was nice of you. Seeing as you often smile at each other, you could definitely try talking to her.

I'd say if she smiles at you then she thinks your cute and she likes you, especially if she does it all the time. Opening the door is really sweet and shows you have nice manners.

I know how you feel. What the heck do you say to someone you don't know?

Depends, if she is a Tumblr SJW then she is most likely thinking that you are a weak-minded, oppressive male who held the door open for her because she is a girl and you view her as insubordinate and unable to do it herself.
Then there is the normal response in which she probably just thought that it was a nice gesture.

Usually when people hold doors for me I don't read much into it. I just find it nice and generous. It might just be because I typically hold doors for anyone I see walking in a mile radius. If I'm on a date however, I think it's romantic.

I think it's good manners when anybody holds a door open for somebody else. It also really bugs me when they don't say "thanks" especially when its obvious when I'm holding the door for them.

When a guy does that like you said, then thats extra special because you already know each other and your'e being a gentleman and thats pretty sweet :) So yes talk to her because she knows that so thats why she smiled and said thanks.
