Hey,
I have been using Benzoyl peroxide for the past 3 months, and the severity of the acne has reduced but by now the treatment should be complete (after 6 weeks of use). I also have incredibly dry skin on my face, I use a "non-comedogenic" moisturiser to take care of that though... I would really appreciate it if you guys could suggest acne treatments from either your own experience, or just by knowledge.
Thanks

Has all your acne gone yet? they say keep using the benzoyl peroxide for a few weeks after all the acne has gone to make sure it doesn't come back.
Benzoyl peroxide is what most doctors give you if you have acne, but the benzoyl peroxide can cause dry skin, but as you use a moisturiser that shouldn't be a problem.
I've never had a problem with acne but what I use is 'Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Exfoliating Pads' which I got from boots (in the UK), I get dry skin as well and I don't have any problem with them.

Do you wash your face twice a day? Because if you don't it means that the BP(benzoyl peroxide) is less effective. Id recommend the brand Cetaphil, its quite popular with people with acne as it doesn't irritate or dry. Try using a thicker layer of BP and remember BP won't cure acne, you have to keep using it because if you stop it will come back.

Make sure you wear an SPF in the day, every day (even in the winter).

For your dry skin id recommend a thicker moisturiser. Don't worry about whether its non-comedogenic,. Cetaphil also do a moisturiser.

As for the rest of you acne, maybe try something Salicylic acid based like Stridex 2% (its easy to get in the US, but I order it off Amazon as I'm in the UK.)

Also Tea Tree & Witch Hazel arn't really the best for acne, there are some much better things.

I'm not really an expert on acne but I'd recommend that you just keep doing what you're doing now and wash your face a few times a day with very hot water

I use to have a lot of acne in my early teenage years. I try a lot of stuff but didn't work well.
From my experience , keep your face clean and flesh free from grease and dirt that cause the acne.
Second, use face wash that hydrodrate the face or face lotion with reflect hydrodrate effect.
Third, diet, try to drink a lot of water for pass out toxic and eat more fruit and vegrtables. Try to avoid fat and greasy food.
After all these, your acne should start to decrease.

Every day in the morning: exfoliate, wash face with facial clenser, moisturize, wait till moisturizer setts in, apply acne creams. This will keep you face healthy and hopefully prevent acne.

I don't think I've seen a study linking "greasy food" and acne, there's a stronger link between acne and high glycemic index foods, that means foods with sugars that are absorbed into the blood quickly.

I'd suggest eating wholemeal bread instead of white bread and cutting back on candy or sweets. Also try eating more fish and less red meat as suggested in the anti-inflammatory diet. I'd don't think it would totally get rid of acne though.

Mechanical exfoliation, that's with physical things like beads, sand and salt, is often ill advised as it doesn't do much in terms of clean out pores and can lead to tiny micro-tears in skin.

Also acne creams should go before moisturiser because its hard to get through the oils and lipids in the moisturiser. Especially if its rather occlusive.

Wash your face often and I've heard Proactive helps.

Proactive isn't that great, some of the ingredients can be quite irritating and its not great value for money.
