question about anal sex

Hi guys I have been asked so many times from different men to do anal sex but I have been always afraid to do it. I will like to know if it hurts? its safe? what is the proper way to do it. I apologize if this is not the right spot to put this thread.

Does it hurt, it will at first but that can be mitigated with lube and going slowly. I recommend starting with anal masturbation. That way you can control the speed and size of what you're using. If you enjoy that, then you can progress to more with someone else.
Is it safe, like anything else there is risk of std's. In fact std transfer rate is higher from anal because the likelihood of creating small tears in your anus is higher which increases risk of transmission. So use protection.
Proper way to do it, I don't think we can really discuss that here, nor is there really only one way that works. Use your imagination.

Ok I really appreciate your answer. I put my fingers inside sometimes while masturbating and its fine for me using lubrication and it really feel great but the real thing hurt me a lot! maybe I got too nervous. I've never known anyone who talked about anal sex irl, but from what I have read, lube, condoms and taking it slow seems to be the only real advice needed.

That and obvious restrictions such as;
- make sure that area is reasonably clean
- don't swap between areas, that will cause major infection (same as only wiping front to back, not vice versa)
