The street next to our home in York is unpassable. We're trapped.

That's weird. There was flooding here in Alabama and massive weather prOblems in general in Texas. Apparently 11 people dIed recently in Texas from weather prOblems such as flooding.
Perhaps God is trying to flood the world again. Damn.

Luckily I live in Liverpool which doesn't flood for some strange reason. Can't imagine what it would be like

For note, Ireland is also experiencing floods, and usually gets worse winds than the UK, because Ireland acts a shield of sorts for some of it by the time it reaches Britain. But yes, Britain is flatter, and is getting floods worse I believe.
Hope things turn out not to get too bad, so many have their homes ruined because of this weather.

Its crazy how many times parts of the north has flooded the past couple of weeks, down south we've barely had any rain this winter (touch wood). Wishing everyone that's been affected the best and hope people are getting themselves back together. The army was sent, so the country is coming to aid and help out. Its just a shame that flood prevention wasn't thought of beforehand.

I can't begin to imagine how bad it must be for those affected.
We need to come together as a nation, and not jsut help those in need now, but also prepare to prevent such floods happening again.

If you look at the flood map on the BBC, the Somerset levels are flooding again. Please not a repeat. So glad I live on a hill.
con99 so sad to hear that. Best luck with avoiding the water. It will end, though it may seem like it won't.

northy I used my PHP knowledge to rustle up a site for people to volunteer - there's 104 volunteers including myself. Although the source code is a mess, if you'd like a copy just contact me via the site.

It doesn't work. Says page cannot be found. I can clean up the source for you if you like? Mysql dB? If so, make sure you escape the input.

I took it down on the request of the local authority.
It used a CSV file to make it easier to share the data with them.
